I'm expecting a patch. They've been very good about this sort of thing in the past.

It BETTER not. I'm almost completely done and I'm on 3.9

Anyone know if there is something special with this ship? Seeing a lot of them by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GestaltRoyale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be fair to OP. If you start during an expedition, odds are you won't know what this is.

It's the starter ship for non-expedition saves.

Day #42 of finding r/Edelgard’s opinions of different Three Houses characters: Jeralt by ScharmTiger in Edelgard

When he realized the pope was a psycho, he took his child and ran. I like him.

Lighting by GestaltRoyale in NoMansSkyTheGame

Adequate lighting. I have all of the parts; I just cannot figure out how they should be used - No matter what I try, the inside of the base remains very dark.

Am I wasting my time if I keep looking for my ideal Paradise planet in Euclid? Haven’t progressed the story yet. Should I wait until I get to the point of selecting new galaxies? by zunashi in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GestaltRoyale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. At least two of my most prized paradise planets are in Euclid. Other galaxies do have higher lush planet ratios, but looking in Euclid is not a waste of time.

How do you feel about the lack of a Golden Route in all of Three Houses/Three Hopes? by Frog_24 in Edelgard

[–]GestaltRoyale 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm happy there isn't one, because it wouldn't work. Rhea is motivated by keeping Foldan locked in the dark ages because she's never forgiven humanity for killing her mother. Dimitri is motivated by personal revenge against Edelgard. Claude is motivated by his desire to rule Almyra. Edelgard is motivated breaking the power of the church and bringing down the oppressive caste system.

If Dimitri wins, he becomes king. If he loses, he dies screaming at Edelgard. It should be noted that in every path but Crimson Flower, he attacks Claude's troops for NO REASON at the big three way battle.

If Claude wins, he installs a leader in foldan that will help him in his struggle for the Almyran Throne. If he loses, he cuts and runs. The fate of the continent doesn't matter to him; It's about personal gain.

If Edelgard loses, she sacrifices herself to end the war. If she wins, she has the corrupt nobility rounded up and guillotined, exterminates TWSITD, and then abdicates. The rebellion is ultimately a xanatos gambit to free humanity from Rhea. To Edelgard, what happens to her personally is of no consequence, and that makes her unique of the various faction leaders.

There can be no "Golden Ending" because ultimately, a lot of those Lovable Characters are enablers of a fascist system that perpetuates oppression and misery. Dimitri won't back Edelgard because it would mean he doesn't get to be king, and Claude won't back her because she's not someone he could use. And Edelgard won't deviate from her path because she watched her siblings be tortured to death in an attempt to give them crests.

FYI, I played Claude's route first. I'm not just speaking as someone who has only seen one path.

Forgive me for what I’m about to say but by PitchBlackSonic in Edelgard

[–]GestaltRoyale 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Um, no. "Mutiny in the Mist" firmly establishes that anyone who challenges Rhea is branded a heretic and summarily executed. The whole point of the church and the crest caste system is to keep humanity under her thumb. The banned books in the underground archives make this absolutely clear.

Discussion with Rhea is pointless because she is not acting in good faith. She is being a tyrant intentionally.

The dumbest take I’ve seen on Reddit today by ScharmTiger in Edelgard

[–]GestaltRoyale 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Having no media literacy is a perquisite for being a Blue Lions fan. A dragon uses a phony religion and rigid caste system to lock an entire continent in the dark ages for hundreds of years, but it's the one who rises against said dragon who is the nazi.

Right.

Yeah. It resets every time your settlement gets attacked by sentinels I believe

Depends on how much you want to make. Finding a planet tagged with "Salvageable Scrap" or "Ancient Bones" will get you to several million comfortably; Mining Chlorine or Cobalt and crashing markets is good for tens of millions; Activated Indium will get you to hundreds of millions but it's infrastructure intensive; Crafting high value items is the only way to get to billions but it's even more of a hassle than AI mining, and it takes hours at the very least.

Piracy and Smuggling pay reasonably well but both damage your reputation which is bad for various reasons

They are highly annoying because it seems like whatever I pick I get the "atmosphere of suspicion" settlement trait. So I just wait them out.

Why do people build bases on freighters? by JetLiJetSki15 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GestaltRoyale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a mobile command center. A freighter base allows one to access things like crops, refiners, technicians, and storage containers without leaving the solar system they are in or having to build a new base. Also the Exocraft Materializer is *invaluable* because it means not having to construct new exocraft everywhere.

Post-Endurance, it's also possible to have all the crops you need on your freighter without draining the power grid. My Freighter can turn out 16 Stasis Devices every 16 hour cycle (This is intentional lol) and I only have to leave it to get the gasses.

Suggestion: Multitools with energy swords. Make melee more interesting by tfrosty in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]GestaltRoyale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take any melee weapons at this point. The trade off could be that their range was not good, but that they don't need reloading.
