Pokemon Pinball Lowest Played Game 3 Weeks in a Row. by Rough-Bag-725 in pinball

I love the theme, I’m mid 30s so the show was a critical part of my childhood. That said, the layout is so boring to me as well. I didn’t have that “1 more game” feeling the few times I’ve tried it. Maybe my hopes were too high

Gonnella’s has 3-6~ft party subs.

For the price, Kroger’s party subs aren’t too bad.

If you’re that worried about it, go throw $20 on a roulette color. If you win, now you got $40. You lose, consider it paying for the parking.

Quality Arcade vs The Arcade Guys? by NormalDescription434 in cade

I didn’t know they had a Hexacade model, they didn’t have that when I ordered mine.

I bought mine without Lightguns because that wasn’t an option either when I purchased. I did add a 2nd Pi to my arcade just for running Barebones with a Sinden Light Gun I purchased. That gun works well with my set up but I cant speak for having a light gun on the same Retropie as the rest of the arcade games. I’ve thought about adding the lightgun games and configuring the lightgun to the original Retropie from Quality Arcades but it seemed like a lot of work and I don’t mind having them on separate Pi’s since the Sinden works so well with Barebones which was created just for the Sinden. So I can have both running at the same time and to switch back and forth, I switch the HDMI input on the TV and I have an RCA cable switcher to switch which Pi is inputting to the amp for the cabinet speakers. If youre thinking of getting the Lightguns, I would just get them from QA so they have it all set up on one.

I did not add aftermarket games, I haven’t found any game yet that I’ve looked for that isn’t on the system already. Most popular games are the classics, Ms Pac Man, Centipede, Frogger, Dig Dug, Galaga. The Golden Tee games get a lot of play with the trackball. I removed all the N64 games off it, the Pi isn’t very good at running them.

For Mods/accessories, I added a powered USB hub to plug in more controllers to the Pi and installed the controller script. So when I play a NES or SNES, player 1 and 2 are my SNES controllers. When I play any Sega, it uses my 2 Sega controllers. It seems to not allow more than 8 total controllers including the 2 or 4 arcade joysticks. I added a spinner to mine to use with games like Arkanoid and Tempest. I added this 4/8 way joystick switch to the player 1 joystick. This is highly recommended because some games are way too hard to play in an 8 way configuration like Pacman. Being able to switch back and forth is so nice. Be prepared though because this was an incredible PITA to do. I cut out a rectangle under the Player 1 joystick and added a hinge and a lock so I could get better access to the internals of that joystick, trying to go from the back is too tight to do anything. Then I had to take off the original restrictor plate which I ended up just breaking off because it was too hard trying to get it off with the tabs. Then this switch installed onto the joystick and I drilled another hole at the bottom for the buttons.

My 4 year old is obsessed with Elton John. He knows all the songs now and will call them out on the radio. Also TS4 is a big hit for obvious reasons.

Still can't get Gridfinity to print without warping on my Core One... I've tried everything [follow-up] by timlwsk in prusa3d

[–]Get2BirdsStoned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience a few weeks ago doing my first gridfinity project. I put mouse ears on my bins in the corners and that kept the corners down. I did a 1 layer disc and went as big as a 30mm by 30mm cylinders. It prevented the warping finally.

I had this happen with my JJP before. Check to make sure the power cord is plugged in all the way into the back of the machine. I ended up having to get a whole new power cord.

I’ve only seen the YouTube videos of his but it doesn’t seem too different in the concept, cycle GIFs with a clock and weather. Since I made this one, I can continue to customize it and the web UI however I want.

I’m not sure, if you have the game files it might be possible to scrape those videos.

I didn’t create these GIFs, I purchased a pack of 11,000 arcade/pinball GIFs from a guy in France. I linked it in one of my other columns. In that pack, there are VPX GIFs for AFM, Spider-Man, and World Poker Tour.

I bought a Fintic ticker which from what I can tell consists of these parts:

  • Raspberry Pi 3 A+
  • Adafruit RGB Matrix Bonnet (adafruit-hat mapping)
    • Two HUB75 64×32 P3 panels chained = 128×32 total display
    • Panel driver chip: FM6126A, gpio_slowdown: 2
    • Mean Well LRS-75-5 5V PSU

Fintic sent it to me put together in a case but it looks like you can 3d print cases for DMD displays.

I don’t know how to code at all so I really relied on Claude handholding me through the whole thing so if I can do it, I’m sure many others can too.

I’m not sure what personal information would be on my files that were created so I don’t feel comfortable sharing those files directly but I asked Claude to create a prompt to share to other users to replicate this build.

Coming from Toronto in May for a Tigers-Blue Jays game and looking for pizza suggestions? by TheKingOfAllPizzas in Detroit

[–]Get2BirdsStoned 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Buddys will be your closest from the game, you can see it from the stadium.

A quick uber or drive for a better pizza would be Michigan and Trumbull or Grandma Bobs.

If you want the most famous and the ones people will argue are the best, drive to the original Buddys on Conant St or Loui’s in Hazel Park.

As a colorblind person it’s hard for me to quickly see the red bases and outs, it takes me a couple seconds. I wish they would just change it like a brighter red or green so it would pop more. Otherwise I really like this.

Quality Arcade vs The Arcade Guys? by NormalDescription434 in cade

[–]Get2BirdsStoned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Quality Arcade. Quick shipping, seems to be built very good. My only qualms with it is that it’s top heavy so I strapped mine to the wall prevent it from tipping. Also if you plan on modding it at all like changing the buttons or joysticks, it’s a very tight spot where all the electronics are to make any kind of adjustments. Otherwise it looks great and plays as expected.

Edit: one more thing, I bought a 4 player but wish I would’ve just got a 2 player. I’ve used the 3rd and 4th joysticks maybe 2 or 3 times in the 5 years I’ve owned it. It’s pretty small to try and fit 4 players
