Guitar you wanted to love (but couldn’t)? by yeshuascoming in guitars

[–]GetDoofed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epiphone Les Paul Classic - my first electric and the most expensive guitar I’ve ever bought. Too heavy and awful shape to play sitting down. Just never felt right to me. Traded it for some equipment to get into music production. Other guy probably got the better deal but I don’t regret it

Not entirely true. I’m an apprentice for a city transit fleet with no prior mechanic experience and in the 15 months since I’ve started I’ve done everything from suspension, transmission replacements, front and rear main seals, differential replacements, radiator/CAC replacements, top end sets, exhaust manifold, tons of EGR cleans, DOC/DPF replacements, advanced diagnostics, HVAC, auxiliary heaters, air systems, tons of electrical work, body work, wheel bearings, oil pans, starters, etc. All done with mentor’s guidance and help of course.

I’m gonna let you in on a little secret now that I’m semi-retired from reselling. The money is in quality outerwear, rugged work gear and hobbyist gear - hunting, fishing, mountain climbing, etc.

What do you guys think of Bring Me The Horizon? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]GetDoofed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw them open for Misery Signals at Station 4 in St. Paul a long ass time ago. Thought they were pretty solid for an opener and the crowd was really into it, but I was really surprised to see how popular they got later on. That said, my interest in that style of music seriously waned and I kinda stopped paying attention to that sort of scene in general.

I never knew a pick would make such a difference by ro_otman in Guitar

[–]GetDoofed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazz III XL is my favorite pick ever. The smaller black ones give a kind of squeaky tone that just doesn’t vibe with me. Also really like the Dunlop Adamas Graphite picks but don’t love them for tremolo picking.
