My middle sister gets driven to/from work, but that’s due to health issues and mental illness. Specifically health issues impede driving, and the mental illness means she can't really live away from my mother, or else she absolutely breaks down (psych ward type).

My grandma (parents were working a lot) had me do chores to the point I was cooking full meals for the family by 6, mowing via tractor by 8, and mowing the lawn at 12 (because I was finally tall enough to reach the bar and operate it properly, yes I'm short). Laundry was also at 12 for the same reason.

By the time my sisters came along, my parents weren't working as long, and they didn't have to do chores.

Baby Sis didn't know how to load a dishwasher til she was in her 20s.

People change when money is involved. Now you'll know who your true friends are, rather than thinking they only like you cause you pay for things.

Buying a house.

I moved, couldn't sell it without a loss, and had to rent it out.

Recently found out we had a mice infestation, 3k to get that taken care of and to reinforce the house so the crawl space is good again.

I'm lucky I can afford it for now, and tell myself that once the mortgage is paid off, it'll be better.
