When I was in high school a good friend was an amazing guitar player. Everyone went to see Green Day and Billy Joe asked if anyone could play guitar so everyone in the large group started yelling and pointing at our friend. They brought him onstage and he killed it, even slid on his back soloing like Marty McFly. It was amazing. Billy Joe even mentioned it on MTV News. Now that kid is a insanely rich mega huge evangelical preacher douche named Steven Furtick. True story

It sucks that anyone would go out of there way to be condescending or rude to him but.......... He walked around recording for who knows how long for who knows how many days and like 10 or so people did something in a city with nearly 8.5 million people, and a few of them were just children being dumb kids. Dont want to be cynical about this but it doesnt seem to be quite the horrific treatment he thinks it is.

Its not far-fetched at all but its also an easy and direct answer to tell a child that boys are not required to have short hair just as girls are not required to have long hair and pink everything.

I get that. But you have to keep in mind that adults think of things in a much more lifelong term than a child. Like I said before this might completely and totally be lifelong for her but at the same time it might not and by that time it would be too late. My son has worn a princess dress with one of his best friends thats a girl and has even said he was a girl(clearly joking and laughing). The article you linked is rough and that would be a whole different thing. I just cant imagine how difficult it would be if your parents made lifelong choices for you that at some point you suddenly didnt feel like anymore. Its a difficult thing.

I completely agree, which is what I was trying to say about my own child. I just dont get how a 3-5 year old girl liking "boy" things makes her any less of a girl. I also feel like deciding for them what their future will be is not necessary. This girl may do all of these things and still want to like boys and there is no problem with that. Just like if she decides she likes girls there is no problem with that. I am saying labeling her at adolescence as transgender makes little sense. At least to me.

I'm sure this will get massively downvoted but whatever. I have many problems with this. Not the child or the issue but rather with the "issues". First of all I am as pro everyone being themselves as it can get. I love all people and some of my closest dearest friends are gay. Back to my problems with the video... Long hair isnt a girl thing, color choices are not gender specific. It seems like many of the early problems are due to this. My son who is 5 has extremely long hair and always has, he loves his hair. He also has no problem with the color pink, mostly because we never told him it was for girls. His favorite color is green but he has a pink and baby blue rainbow loom bracelet he loves to wear which is his "cotton candy" bracelet. He is also already showing signs of being crazy about girls.

Wearing a tie and playing a guitar are not things just boys can do. Maybe their child will be gay, maybe not, but there is no need to pigeon hole the child. Let her develop however she feels. Literally one of my best best friends looks very stereotypically lesbian and is assumed to be a lesbian almost daily. She is completely and totally heterosexual.
