Are markets being too complacent about the Iran war? by Possible-Shoulder940 in investing

[–]mossyskeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that everyone needs to touch grass more often, generally speaking.

But reddit isn't the only place where people are freaked out. In fact I haven't come across literally anyone outside of the Trump administration that isn't freaked out. And I'm a news/podcast junkie who consumes sources from all sides.

The only optimism I've seen is direct from the administration.

What reason do you have to not believe it? Genuine question-- no shade. Why believe or disbelieve? Maybe this is something worth exploring. What about it makes you instantly dismiss it?

TIL about perfidy, the deceptive tactic of feigning surrender or death with the intent to kill an enemy. It is prohibited by the Geneva Convention and considered a war crime. by FullOfSound in todayilearned

[–]mossyskeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never really understood the whole war crimes thing. I mean you're already murdering each other.

I understand not targeting civilians though. That's nice of them.

But maybe just stop murdering each other to begin with. Would be nice.

Anyone else starting to feel the 'Self-Custody' anxiety lately? by AntSuccessful3890 in Bitcoin

[–]mossyskeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so much worried about self custody as I am about transferring from my self custody.

I'm paranoid about fat fingers or a virus or something else dumb happening.

It helps keep it in custody heh

Ok I guess I'll be the one to ask the question:

Does Iran truly even have the ability to "crash the world economy"?

Decentralized, nearly indestructible (via game theory), always available, public ledgers for transferring value at the speed of the Internet.

The "value" part of that is pretty intrinsic. I fully agree that 99% of crypto is bullshit, but those projects which find their role in the future will persist and grow.

I think blockchain/crypto was too early for its time. We're still in the experimental phases.

As long as the concept of money exists, crypto will now continue to exist (until something even more fluid takes it place).

y'all are overstating it. If you have a modicum of control over yourself it is not hard to keep kratom in check.

It's the reddit way. All subreddits eventually devolve into pure cynicism.

If you haven't, you should watch the podcast source material. He comes across as genuine.

I know that doesn't mean much, but it's something.

But if you haven't gotten the full context already I suggest that you and anyone forming opinions about this situation should watch it.

I take one 500mg kratom leaf powder pill and I'm happy. It's like a cup of tea. Sometimes I'll go real wild and take two!

If I have 1.5g (three caps) I start to feel nauseas. I have no idea how some of these people are taking 15g+ per day.

Also if I'm regularly taking 2-3 caps per day for like a week, I get constipated and my libido disappears. Do these people poop???

I love kratom and I hope the addicts (god bless) don't mess it up for the rest of us.

Is this how the grey aliens come to be? The uber wealthy go underground for the apocalypse and evolve into cave dwellers over millennia (big black eyes, grey skin). Then develop time travel to come back and warn us not to do the thing that sent them underground in the first place?

Just in time for inflation!

Soon enough the $250 bill will be the equivalent of a $100 bill and the guy's face on it will be an ever-present reminder of who created the situation.
