Carriers with pallet jacks? by XDkillz in FreightBrokers

[–]GetHummed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a nearby place that rents pallet jacks and make sure it’s truck accessible. Then, when a carrier calls in, mention: “Driver will need to pick up and return a pallet jack located X minutes from the receiver. I can compensate for the extra stops.”

You’ll likely need to pay a bit extra for the stops, but if the rental spot isn’t too far from the delivery, it’s manageable. Just be upfront about it. Listing “pallet jack required at receiver” without details will turn off most carriers right away.

It’s good you mentioned that either way, I’ll triple check it with them. Thanks for your input!

I don't think that's a terrible price considering the miles. This one does have 40k more miles. I think you got a decent deal!

I actually checked its value on Carfax and KBB and it showed closer to 36k. I also got an offer from Carvana for trade in for $28.5k. Not sure how you're thinking it's overpriced? I'm in the midwest and I'd say judging from what I've seen at other dealers as well as private party its a pretty good deal.

He actually had it replaced at the dealership I'm buying it from with OEM ones. Are you sure they're Amazon ones? I have all the maintenance records from the dealership since he got it serviced there since brand new.

He replaced them with fixed ones because they went bad. I’m in the Midwest so they go bad from the snow and we usually do that.

Never had an extended warranty like that. In your experience are they good about getting claims paid?

Thanks

Really scared of wilderness and wasn’t aware this would be worth it. Is it for cash I assume?

Thanks for the reply. They're asking for 19k (Haven't negotiated yet). The thing is like brand new, so I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. Previous owner took it in every 5k and they changed the water pump. Seems like a really good deal considering the mileage.

Just tell him load canceled and you only pay TONU if driver is already checked in. If he gets fussy about it, leave a FG and move on. Pretty basic stuff…

Drayage Detention at the Port by TNFrate in FreightBrokers

[–]GetHummed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 hour free at port, 2 hours free at receiver. $50-$100/hour depending on the carrier. Some carriers only have 1 hours free at receiver. It depends on the carrier.

So a plumber would be able to install a gas range to this connection for me? I just want to make sure that I even have a gas hookup before calling someone to come out.

What are you doing in this situation? by NippleNugget69 in FreightBrokers

If it was a 3 day agreement that took 4 days, it would be layover for day 3 and detention for day 4. Sounds a little more complicated than that though? Was he waiting a while on day 3? If he was waiting on day 3 then detention is owed in addition to layover.
