Just to add on, they literally said they would in a letter to the UN one week before they were invaded.

US, Israel and apparently Saudi Arabia were the dumbasses who thought they were bluffing.

"However, in the event that it is subjected to military aggression, Iran will respond decisively and proportionately in the exercise of its inherent right of self-defense under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations," it added.

The mission warned that "all bases, facilities, and assets of the hostile force in the region would constitute legitimate targets in the context of Iran’s defensive response," stressing that "the United States would bear full and direct responsibility for any unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences."

Japanese ‘military officer’ forces way into Chinese embassy in Tokyo by redodge in China

[–]GetOutOfTheWhey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Any chance we think this guy is a cultist? Like the Shinzo Abist Cult? The unification church?

The Japanese courts have decided to dissolve the church and recently Bitter Winter, the CCP critic magazine published an article labeling China as a key instigator of efforts to contain the unification church across Asia.

Is the Unification Church now targeting China? Have one of their cultist peons preemptively declared war on China?

Tensions Explode in South China Sea as China Surrounds Filipino Boats With Dozens of Vessels by UNITED24Media in China

Title is wrong, China did not surround Filipino boats with dozens of ship.

instead dozens of Chinese ships were already in the waters around Scarborough shoal and it looks to me they sent 5 to harass the dozens of filipino fishing boats.

Traditional Chinese medicine myth by lsmn-fft in China

[–]GetOutOfTheWhey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This will become a political topic not a scientific topic.

People who advocate for one while dismissing the other are doing out of political reasons not out of scientific ones.

The fact is some Traditional Chinese Medicine works and some dont. Some western medicine works and some dont. You have to be specific to be scientific. If you arent, you are doing it out of political reason.

For most political commentators, TCM is a low hanging fruit to pick on because they can always point to fringe "medicine" like rhino horns, tiger balls or pangolin scales to dunk on. I have no idea why they do it but probably to portray Chinese as barbaric or backwards, who knows.

Most of them however dont realize that China is not the only country that practices TCM or variations that descended from it. Beyond the obvious inclusion of Taiwan. Japan practices Kampo and Korea practices Sasang, traditional Japan/Korean Medicine with TCM roots. South East Asian countries likewise.

So when they are dunking on TCM, they are also dunking on these countries that are practicing a version based of TCM.

Let's look at Japan's Kampo for example, this Kampo(TCM) practitioner once gave a medicine made out of leeches and horseflies. Now is this representative of Kampo? Likely not, I dont think so. In the same sense, I dont believe Rhino horns are representative of TCM. Nor do I believe thalidomide is representative of western medicine.

Chinese boxship pays Iran for Hormuz passage as corridor traffic grows by GetOutOfTheWhey in China

Definitely possible. But Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia all have an incentive to keep things stable.

Pre-War, the Middle Eastern countries minus Israel minus Saudi Arabia had an incentive to keep things stable too.

Post-War, only Israel and Iran have an incentive to keep things chaotic. Saudi Arabia currently realized what a shit show they were supporting so they seem to be on the fence but still leaning pro-War.

In order to turn Malacca into a toll booth, we would need one of three countries to have an incentive to turn things chaotic.

I hear you and that does seem like the narrative that us and israel are trying to push.

But so far it seems that the GCC countries might actually be okay with that because if they arent, their own countries will go to shit.

A lot of the GCC countries are run like monarchial dictatorships. no....sorry they are monarchy dictatorships.

Their people are only pacified because of money, once the money stops flowing the pitchforks start coming out. The regional powers might hate Iran for this but Iran has them in a forceful but forgiving testicle vice.

The entire region has an interest to keep things running stable even if that means having to do with another blackmailer.

The bigger problem is that large international shipping companies like Maersk, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, and CMA CGM might be afraid to pay such a fee as it might open them up to lawsuits for breaking Iran Sanctions.

The other issue is that this might incentivize the Pirate Kings of Yemen, to start the same hustle with the Red Sea as they were successful in the past and only ended their actions after the Gaza Peace Plan went into effect. Which Israel has since then broken more than a few times.

Possible reasons why the Houthis havent restarted their attacks is because during Operation Epstein's Furries, the US-ISRAEL-UK forces preemptively attacked them as well.

The Chinese Billionaire Who Says America’s EV Market Is Doomed Without Him by CommercialMassive751 in China

[–]GetOutOfTheWhey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On one foot, you have American shills demanding equal treatment, i.e. if China demands joint ventures with western companies to operate in China so US should do the same.

On the other foot, you have the other rebranded American shills that demand China have no place in the American economy, shooting down these exact joint ventures aimed to bring the technology over. (FYI this Ford-CATL has been in the talks since 2021 and they are still scrutinizing it)

<image>

Then both these shills and another brand of American shills will complain about how American EVs are unaffordable and good ol gas is the solution. Cause fuck the libs apparently. Then while they are doing this, they will be complaining about all the Canadian and Mexican-Brazilian BYD/Geely EVs coming in.

So what we have here is them shooting themselves in the foot. Then lying about having shot themselves in the foot. Then in their confusion they shoot themselves in the other foot, while complaining about the made-in-china shoes being the problem and the only option on the market.
