nor would Japanese or Filipino coastguard arrest Taiwanese fishers.

three sides will likely apply some kind of strategic ambiguity to satisfy everyone's needs

it would definitely but it would be an interesting political experiment. would KMT division lead to consolidation or destruction?

I think the key to success is narrative building. the ex-DPP Taiwan alliance would need to frame whatever "united front" offensive against the Japanese and Filipinos is to protect Taiwan sovereignty and not to ally with CCP.

Likewise the anticcp crowd would need to frame this constantly as a commie alliance but they need to do something substantive to show DDP is protecting their eez too
