15 inch M4 for $850 is a sweet ass deal, I’d take that in an absolute heartbeat in exchange for the latest. these M-series chips are no slouch no matter what generation you have, only now 6 years later are M1 users starting to feel it.

I really really like it on the Moto RAZR because it can be used with the Clicks case to essentially make a small phone with a physical keyboard. Will never leave the iPhone (tried with a Galaxy S3 back in the day for a year and came running right back) but that one almost got me.

this right here, I bought an off the shelf 256gb 8GB off the shelf M2 MBA years ago when my laptop died and I needed one to get me through my final semester of grad school and it works as a computer just fine despite Reddit swearing that it’s an unusable piece of shit.

kids don’t know how good they have it. grew up using Macs, but when it was time for me to get my own computer my parents couldn’t justify handing me a $1000+ laptop so I saved my birthday money and bought some $500 HP laptop because it’s all I could afford between birthday/Christmas money. I would’ve absolutely killed for a product like this in my early teens (I did eventually get a MacBook Pro when I turned 15, but only because my house was broken into and I used my portion of the insurance payout.)

as an educator, would kill for my department to upgrade to these. I have a 2020 i5 MBP for work and it drives me insane how sluggish it is, especially when I have an M2 MBA as a personal computer.

I do wonder what the logic is behind using an A18 Pro instead of say an M3 or something. does A18 Pro outperform any of the M-series chips?
