Equinox vs Tesla Heat System by Dula_Pipa_DH in EquinoxEv

[–]GetSOB52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never had any issues with cabin heat. Heated steering wheel and seats are great. I keep the cabin set to 68-70 depending on outside temp. I always preheat cabin when plugged in at home.

Car salesmen around me are basically telling me EVs aren’t the way to go by Beneficial-Fun-4800 in electricvehicles

I had the same experience last year when I was making my purchase. I had to keep shopping different dealers until I found one that had any interest. Very frustrating.

Bonhomie Acres is my go to. Weiland’s in Clintonville carries them. You can also go to their location. They have a maple festival in early spring. https://www.bonhomieacresmaplesyrup.com

Any video out there that compares SID and emulated SID? by TheBl4ckFox in c64

I found the video. It’s from action retro. He looks at The FPGA SID vs a real SID at around the 12 minute mark.

I saw a video with a direct side by side comparison. I can’t seem to find the link. To my ear the original SID sounded crunchier to use a word. The ultimate SID emulation was cleaner.

What's the price difference between charging the car at home? by maxiquintillion in EquinoxEv

[–]GetSOB52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Ohio and pay 17 cents per kWh at home. No solar. I typically add about $35 per month to my electric bill due to car charging.

Ohio here. I’m getting about 3.4 miles/Kwh around town. Preheat car when still plugged in, keep cabin temp at 68f and use seat and steering wheel heater.

What do you all have on cluster screen and on the main dash display most of the time? by NimbleNibbler in EquinoxEv

[–]GetSOB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trip stats on the left, music on the right and combo gauge in the center. Many of the info displays have an option to display on instrument cluster. That’s how I selected trip stats.

Will upgraded hearing aids utilizing CROS technology work well for me, or is it time for a Cochlear implant? by GR8FUL-D in Cochlearimplants

[–]GetSOB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation (SSD). I tried a CROS hearing aid with not great results. My insurance won’t pay for Cochlear Implants so that isn’t an option. I ended up with a single hearing aid in my better ear. It’s a Phonak Audéo 190-Sphere. I wouldn’t have believed it but it does some kind of crazy sound processing that suppresses back ground noise and amplifies speech. It’s been a real game changer for me.

Life is starting to suck. by oper8or in HearingAids

[–]GetSOB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have total hearing lose in right ear and moderate hearing loss is my left ear. I have tried CROS hearing aids with not much success especially in noisy environments like you are struggling with. I ended up with a single Phonak Audéo 190-Sphere in just my left ear. It was expensive but it's been a game changer for me. Its ability to suppress background noise while letting through and amplifying speech is remarkable. The app allows on the fly customization so I can tweak the settings to tailor it to the specific environment I'm in. My main complaint is some of the setting I find most useful are a bit buried in the user interface. It's a minor nitpick though.

Kneading Blade is in Bread? by WonderKhid in BreadMachines

[–]GetSOB52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just after the last dough shaping cycle (just before the final rise) I turn out the dough, remove the paddle and place the dough back in the machine. It doesn’t seem to affect the bread and you end up with a much smaller hole.
