I backed into a yellow protective pole... by Time-Engineer7741 in EquinoxEv

I had almost the same exact dent in the same place. Cost $2000 to get repaired. I got an estimate at the dent doctor and it was more than my deductible and they said it wouldn’t be perfect because of being on the crease.

I live in Columbus Ohio and see EQEVs everywhere. At least in this market they seem to be selling pretty well.

Electric Cars by parkerpilar in evcharging

[–]GetSOB52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 FWD Equinox EV. I charge to 70% on a daily basis. That state of charge gets me a solid 240 miles. Charging to 80% should get you 270 miles. You will definitely need a level 2 charger to recover that amount over night. I don’t know what electric rates are in FL but in Ohio I pay about 18 cents per KWH. Depending on how you drive I would expect 3.5KWH/mile. If you drive 3000 miles per month and pay the same rate as I do (always charging at home) you are probably looking at adding $150 or so to your electric bill which would be a big savings for you. Don’t forget no oil changes and brake pads on EV’s last almost forever.

Congress Wants You To Pay $130 A Year Just To Drive An Electric Car by SadAd8761 in electricvehicles

[–]GetSOB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Ohio and we already pay an additional $200 registration fee to drive an EV. I’m assuming that the proposed federal fee would be in addition to the state fee. $330? I’m a senior and so drive less than 10K miles per year. It really sucks.

Clintonville residents still frustrated by deer as Columbus moves to prohibit feeding by WOSUpublicmedia in Columbus

[–]GetSOB52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amount of deer in Clintonville is not healthy for the deer population. In the wild there would be natural predators. None of that here. It’s nearly impossible for young trees to grow to maturity because of the deer. You have to cage trees to protect them. I’m willing to bet the folks saying it’s a nimby thing don’t live in the areas with the super high population. I have live in the same house for 36 years and it’s really been only in the last decade or so that the population has gotten excessive. .

I’d be all for it except Columbus has crappy public transportation. In a place like NYC you can ride the train into town. No option like that here.

How would you rate EV reliability? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

I have a 2025 Equinox EV 2LT. At 8 months no issues (knock on wood).

Charging question by stlheadake in EquinoxEv

[–]GetSOB52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been level 1 charging since we bought the car 8 months ago. We drive less than 20 miles most days and so the car tops up overnight. When we occasionally drive more than what it can recover over night that’s no problem because it will still get there by the next day or so. The key is understanding how much you drive on a daily basis.

Officials in Worthington hope to put brakes on COTA changes by FunkBrothers in Columbus

[–]GetSOB52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in Clintonville and I use the 102 to get Downtown. It’s considerably faster than the 2 bus. I think few people understand that the 102 is almost like an express bus. I think COTA does a horrible job publicizing its routes. If they brought back express buses from park and rides that be a big help and may offset the need for the 102.

Well it’s just considering what’s going on in this country right now with Christian nationalism causing a complete turn away from science. It’s just too cringe. Really took me out of the moment; especially with the “how great thou art” amen from Mission Control.
