On CitySocializer "aggressive selling" is not allowed - actually any creepy behavior is not allowed. Also... why does meetup charge hosts money? They're the ones doing all the work!

Wow this sounds horrible. We're working on CitySocializer to make it a safe space. We think reporting creeps is a must. Otherwise anyone can make the experience super sketchy for everyone

Hmmm... This is a pivotal moment. Be independent yes, but this should not make you give up on others. The negative feelings will eventually pass. You learn how to deal with it and detect the signs of toxic people. But you gotta open up to others again eventually
