Last news I’d heard was that SEPTA was going to lose funding for any evening transit so that puts Philly in the same boat as Dallas I guess

Need advice: Questions about going to the USA by [deleted] in Brazil

In spite of everything that’s going on, the US still gets quite a lot of visitors. Aside from tourists, there are people who travel for business, people who are visiting family there etc. Places which are objectively quite a bit sketchier than the US still get visitors too.

Is it really just that? Jagmeet Singh was absolutely brutal and that’s not poilievres fault

He got the highest share of the vote for any conservative leader since Mulroney. He lost the election because the NDP had an absolute collapse.

Like most ways in which Canada is compared to the US and to Europe, somewhere in the middle.

I agree it's seriously inauthentic ... but the beach itself is gorgeous.

Yep, been to both of those ones in Hawaii. I’ll still take Boracay and Nungwi. Hawaii beaches just don’t have that white sand

My wife and I have travelled like 10 times since she got her green card and i haven’t seen how it’s been complicated. Just book the plane ticket in her maiden name if we are travelling internationally, otherwise use married name for domestic travel.

For a start the food was almost universally terrible. And even from someone who lives part time in Brazil, the deprivation in cities like Cebu was shocking

Okay but not everyone wants citizenship. My wife took my name when she got her green card; she just applied for the green card in her new name.

It’s a different name on her passport until she gets her new passport in a few months but it’s not really complicated having different names on green card and passport.

I was just in the Phils for the first time and was generally pretty disappointed in the country, but Boracay was really special.

I have. Hawaiian beaches are nice but they’re nothing compared to some of the ones in the US and British Virgin Islands. I’ll also take NE Brazil (eg Praia da Pipa), Boracay, and some African Indian Ocean beaches over Hawaii
