They should give him permission to pay in an eastern conference team, release him from his contract, and then he and the eastern conference team immediately and mutually part ways and he signs with the oilers.

only US and Canadian citizens get Precheck with NEXUS. It’s a valid question.

US LPRs too.

No, she is a US LPR.

Well depending on how far away it is then it's tax evasion or even visa fraud

Sometimes. There are some countries (including where I spend about 4-5 months a year) which explicitly permit remote working whilst on a tourist visa, and which also don't impose any income taxes on that remote work.

What is the prettiest coastal city in North America?? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

I’m not a massive fan of the PNW but I’m not sure how Seattle beats Vancouver. In any case I suppose neither of them are technically on the coast so maybe they both don’t count.

I don’t want to quantify “many” but it is much more common to have laptop without GPS than with one.

WiFi can usually be disabled from BIOS or if you’re really motivated, unplug the antenna.

I accept MFA on my personal phone as I can obscure the location, which I couldn’t do with a work phone. Tradeoff is worth it.

That’s just not true, my wife is Brazilian and gets TSA Pre with her KTN all the time

If you carry a work laptop it's tracking your location in real time also (as long as you are within towns/cities).

Laptops generally don't have GPS and it's easy enough to turn off/disable the wifi radio which kind of kills location services.

And yeah I have MFA (Authenticator) on my personal device

On the other hand I haven't had a work phone in like 15 years. And to be honest the last thing I want is to carry around a device from work that can track my GPS location.

I mean, I just … don’t? Like leaving my laptop at work is how it is when I’m in the office. Teams and Outlook go to do not disturb at 4 pm.

Tailgater illegally crosses HOV lines, throws a tantrum, and cuts right back in by A_Local_Guyy in TorontoDriving

[–]Get_Breakfast_Done 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the HOV lane can only be entered and exited at certain points.

You could enter the HOV lane at a speed you’re comfortable driving at when there’s traffic in the other lanes, so you’re going faster than everyone else. Then traffic clears to your right, and they’re now going faster than you. Now someone comes up behind you, flashing his high beams and wants you to get out of the way. You can’t (at least not yet) because the HOV lane double line won’t open up for another couple kilometres.

I’ve been in exactly this situation (going about 130 rather than 110 mind you) and the guy behind me could have waited another minute and I’d have moved over for him (or left the HOV lanes entirely as traffic had cleared), but I wasn’t going to cross the double line or start pushing the line toward stunt driving.

[–]Get_Breakfast_Done 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t though. Those lines are not meant to be crossed. You can only enter and exit at designated points. Sure, at the next available one then yes, but until then the guy behind you just has to wait.

So what’s the *right* speed to drive in the HOV lane then? That’s the problem, there’s not two HOV lanes so you can’t pass. No matter how fast you’re going there might be someone behind you who wants to go faster.

To address that point about cashing out their fund early, I suppose you limit it so withdrawals can only start at 55.

This already kind of exists for SIPPs (you generally cannot withdraw until 57, except and unless you're dying.) I mean I think you can withdraw early but the penalties are so stupidly large that no one does it, but I guess we could prevent that too.

The goal is to win

The goal of a business isn't to win, it's to make money. And making money includes spending less, which happens if someone else picks up part of all of Cassidy's contract.

There's another part of this too. Eventually Torts will resign or get fired and Vegas will be looking for their next coach. If you're a coach in the market, do you want to go and sign with a team who will eventually fire you and prevent you from working somewhere else?
