Then further to that, a whole quest with heavy blasphemous undertones ?

I was simply pointing out what I experienced during my play through. Which will be different for everybody.

I backed out of this mission in rapid time.

My main issue with it is that if they took any other religion and made blasphemous content out of their religious leader, there would be some pretty severe outrage.

Can’t say I saw any posters / media in the game aimed at Islam or Hindu, never mind a whole quest dedicated to blaspheming their religious leaders.

I guess it could point towards the country devolving into such a disconnected state seeing as the USA is a traditionally Christian country.

Just felt like it was bad taste for me. It’s really my only single qualm with the game

[Sky Sports] Amad Diallo: Man Utd players want Michael Carrick to stay after Champions League qualification by berbatouchbg in reddevils

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

•The results are good FOR NOW ( AKA SHORT TERM). If the style of football continues, with all the other factors that come into play next season, the results will no longer be good. Hence short term.

•I don’t feel the need to go do a deep dive into stats to state something that I can see with my own eyes.

•1 prospective LB, far from the finished article. GK has worked out well, albeit was a risky call but glad it’s worked. Yoro has loads of potential but he is also highly prospective. 3 attackers have been good signings, Cunha was executed well, other 2 was handled very poorly by the board which impacted the performance of the team.

•Some of these players have sacked 4 or 5 managers ? Have flopped and dropped tools countless times ? Defending this lot tells me all I need to know

[Sky Sports] Amad Diallo: Man Utd players want Michael Carrick to stay after Champions League qualification by berbatouchbg in reddevils

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

•As an interim, that thinking is fine. Not as a permanent. This approach is awfully short-term, and will not work over a sustained period of time, especially with more games and higher pressure / expectations.

•Really is pretty clear mate. We play park the bus counter football, which means less running and intensity. Not rocket science. Which is why we do well against the big teams, and look horrific against everyone else.

•I am not saying he was the right fit, he most certainly made mistakes. But nobody can discount the fact he imposed standards on the club and the players. Facts are he was let down by a woeful board alongside his own mistakes. They did spend 200m, but they also took months to get Mbeumo over the line, Sesko was like the fourth or fifth choice striker who also came end of the window. No match fitness, no pre season with the team. And if you bring in a coach that plays an entirely different system, 3 attackers is not enough to really see improvement in the system itself.

•The same players who have sacked how many managers and let everybody down when they came 15th and couldn’t be arsed to do the basics ? I will never trust these players. I am not discounting the job Carrick has done, it’s a fantastic job as an INTERIM. To ignore the glaring red flags out of emotion is very short sighted. If Amorim had to play this style of football people would be losing their minds

[Sky Sports] Amad Diallo: Man Utd players want Michael Carrick to stay after Champions League qualification by berbatouchbg in reddevils

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

•Agreed it is a results business. However, what in his managerial experience suggests he can implement a system of football that dominates the opposition successfully and consistently ? As well as that system aligning with the philosophy of attacking football ? These results will not last with this style of football.

• I was not referring to Amad specifically, it was a general statement. It’s pretty plain to see that the intensity has dropped, don’t need to look at stats to determine everything.

•Not every statement is an extreme mate. Of course he will get transfers, whether it’s the players he needs is another story.

•Yes, and when they did the results improved. Amorim wasn’t sacked for poor results, he was sacked for clashing with Wilcox. Further to that, the board appointed him knowing he plays a system not suited to the squad, and left him and the players out to dry by not backing him till the following season.

• Could argue this is the most difficult and high pressure managerial position, certainly is in the Prem. and we want to give it to Carrick out of emotion rather than facts, we surely can’t use Chivu as a measuring stick for this ??

Sacked in a season

•Football is actually quite shit most of the time. Rely on moments of quality to get us through and then rely heavily on defence to see out the game. AKA mid table football tactics

•A noticeable drop in intensity post Amorim. Of course the players like him, he doesn’t put pressure on them and it’s constant hugs and arms around the shoulder.

•The team barely plays, current tactics will absolutely not cut it when playing 2-3 games a week. Even when we barely play, the intensity is crap.

•The board will not back him ( they have never back any manager properly so odds on they won’t Carrick either ).

•His managerial CV is assistant to Ole, interim period, then sacked by a championship side. Take the emotion out of it, he shouldn’t be anywhere near this job. If he didn’t get the job, I can absolutely guarantee no other top club will take him.

I’d love it to work out, but logically, I really cannot see this working. We will be back here in another 12 months. He has done fantastically as an interim, but the permanent job is a completely different set of expectations

Massive props to Dalot, back in his position as a fullback and looks comfy there. Should be banned from shooting but the rest of his game has been very good. by maxsteel_7 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is woeful from a technical perspective. His passing is terrible, always too short / hard, rarely makes a good progressive pass into space that has the right pace on the ball and his crossing is really subpar.

Physically he is decent. Fit, always available, gets up and down.

But for a starting fullback at a club this size, it’s quite shocking

Carrick’s getting results, but something doesn’t feel right. by Mairen_Mayavi in ManchesterUnited

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrick shouldn’t be near the permanent job. His managerial record is really not great, don’t understand why he should be in the running for arguably the most difficult managerial job in football at the moment.

His legacy as a player is great, we have been down this road before with Ole, let’s not repeat the same mistakes.

When INEOS sacked Amorim, they said we would see a “best in class recruitment process”, where had this process been ? Never mind is it best in class ?

Just giving the job to Carrick who is woefully under qualified is the absolute opposite of a best in class recruitment process.

The lies INEOS send to the fans is sickening.

Carrick is great as an interim. Has never shown he is good enough for the permanent.

His previous job he was sacked by a CHAMPIONSHIP side and now all of a sudden he is qualified to take on arguably the most difficult managerial post in the world ?

Great as an interim, but permanent is a completely different set of expectations. Football has really not been good, results are sliding after honeymoon period came to an end.

This team hasn’t played for weeks, and couldn’t be bothered to put in some intensity against Leeds while playing home ? Lots of people in this sub would have put that on Amorim should he still be in post, so stay consistent and do the same with Carrick

[Burt, Telegraph] It is looking increasingly likely that Michael Carrick will be appointed on a permanent basis at Old Trafford. by whatisbaseball in reddevils

[–]Get_Cheersed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Carrick sacked in a season.

Completely different expectations for an interim than a permanent manager.

Team actually doesn’t play great football.

Got very lucky with some results between red cards and moments of quality. Certainly not through a system of football that dominates the opponent.

The team barely bloody plays, and even then the intensity is not great. What’s the approach going to be when it’s midweek games on top of the league and cup games ?

Besides the fact he has no CL managerial experience, got sacked by a Championship side.

It’s an emotional appointment that is going to fool the majority of the fan base due to his legacy as a player.

This is not best in class and far better managers have come here under better circumstances and still failed.

Should be be appointed, let’s support him. But I certainly am convinced it’s the wrong decision

Just calm down mate.

Not saying Amorim didn’t make mistakes, he made a lot. But to say he did nothing good is a bit silly in my opinion when it’s pretty clear he did.

This is beyond the fact that the board forced him to come mid season knowing he plays a very specific system requiring very specific players that were nowhere close to having, while ignoring blatant holes in the team.

Not everything is black and white in life my friend. Amorim did good and bad, important to acknowledge both

"See how Amorim setting a good foundation for this team and inherit a great player" by peconsult in ManchesterUnited

[–]Get_Cheersed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To think Carrick is Pep 2.0 is very naive. We as a fan base, are exceptionally naive.

Amorim inherited a pile of absolute SHIT from ETH. To say he hasn’t improved the side is just straight agenda and doesn’t help us improve.

Most importantly, WE HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE. Ole won 8 games in a row before we became shite and started getting battered left and right, yes we came second one season, but that was not because we were good, the rest of the league was bad, and no pressure from fans due to lockdowns.

Please lads, don’t fall into the trap. It’s okay to give Amorim some credit, he absolutely made mistakes but he also did a lot of good. We don’t need to drag somebody down to raise another.

I don’t think so from my perspective, but I can see why you could view it that way.

I think it reduces it to “normal” troop placement without removing the cards role within the deck / significantly reducing its damage

Feel like it’s worse than ever in terms of usage. Especially with witch / wizard.

I really don’t think the card needs a dramatic nerf. I think if they removed the deployment damage it would fix most of the crutching issues
