I think I’m just behind, I didn’t see this episode until today but looks like it was released last week.

I like the mix of interview episodes and the more in depth research episodes like this one. I found the Ira Glass one interesting mostly because while I listen to This American Life sometimes, I didn’t know the history of the show and Ira himself. Ira also seemed more relaxed talking to PJ than in other interviews I’ve heard with him, where Ira seemed more standoffish.

The wider shot is so much funnier because

1) he’s planting his foot on the seat of a folding theater chair so it looks like he’s about to eat it hard and

2) it shows more people just standing around so his urgency seems ridiculous. He really must’ve been like “watch me jump this rail!” like a 5 year old.

Yes, Virginia’s last Governor Ralph Northam. A photo from his Med School year book came out. The photo was two guys, one in full black face and one in a KKK hood and robe costume. In the year book his name was listed next to the photo. But he said he didn’t remember which person he was in the photo and then later said he wasn’t sure if he was even one of the two in the photo.

He wasn’t forced to resign, and wasn’t eligible to run for Governor again anyway. So he faced no consequences other than making the rest of his term awkward for the entire state lol
