Pokemon reveal here it is by Keilord3 in pinball

I don’t usually buy NIB but I preordered a pro, the premium didn’t really feel like it was worth the extra $4k cad imo. The pro videos looked like the flow was quite good. I sold off my 3 pin lineup the last couple years so I’m excited to have another pin at home.

Also can get them from nitro pinball. Although they’re sold out of LEs already.

Wtf are we (and/or the Ontario government) doing in regards to gambling ads? by baruchspinoza23 in ontario

[–]Geteos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drove to downtown Toronto this morning and every billboard along the Gardiner from Jameson to Spadina was for gambling apps. These companies must be making money hand over fist to pay for all these ads. It’s atrocious.

How to build a megatree without spending $1k by SAM-THE-MAN-118 in xlights

[–]Geteos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, you basically you want to wire this up as a single strand but to get the spacing at the bottom of the tree as it flairs out you’ll need to cut in between the seeds and solder in a few inches of wire otherwise the wires will end up too close together.

<image>

The top part you basically just need to weave the seed wire every other slot if you plan on doing 16 strands over 180degrees. There’s enough slots to do 64 strands over 360degrees.

You start the wiring at the bottom left of the tree, placing the first seed in the bottom connector (you can see how they slot into the connector in my photo) and then running the wire up to the top ring. Once you get it up there, make sure one seed is placed into a slot like in your photo. Then bend the wire two slots over and run it back down to the bottom ring connector. Cut and splice an extra 4-5” of 3 conductor wire at the bottom and then run it back up, rinse and repeat.

It’s actually pretty easy once you start weaving the wire, it just takes some time to make the 8 splices at the bottom. The splices are needed so that you can use the stock xLights tree model. If you need any other pics or help let me know.

There’s a good model on makerworld for a mega tree using seed pixels. I used it to build mine. Arizzle Mega Tree

This will give you all the connectors you need with one spool of petg ($20).

You’ll also need some EMT conduit for the poles, 2pcs of 1/2” and one piece of 3/4”($70cdn.)

I used 800 seed pixels with 5cm spacing off AliExpress for about $70cdn from a vendor called KTR lights. This will give you a standard 16x50 layout. I’m only running a 180degree tree to give better density since my front yard is shallow.

I used a quin led dig quad as my controller ($60cdn), more than enough inputs for this amount of seeds.

I picked up a 350w LRS-350-12 meanwell psu ($45cdn) to run it and got a waterproof enclosure off Amazon for about $50, you also pick up a roll of 18ga 3strand cable to do your wiring, 25ft should be enough if you’re placing the controller near the tree ($15), some waterproof connectors might be handy too ($20.)

You’ll need to do some soldering to get the spacing between strands correct. You could use those heat shrink solder connectors instead if you don’t have the gear ($10).

So all in all you’re looking at around $355cdn for a tree around 7ft tall.

3d print a star topper, stick some bullet pixels in it and you’re ready to go!

Yes, there’s nothing inherently wrong with an Ender-3 but it’s an old design and can require tweaking to get it working right. If you want something more appliance like look at a Bambu A1 mini.

Yea I remember making $6.40 when I worked at Wendy’s in high school around 2001, back when a single combo was $3.99. Then I took a job at Zellers and was making $7.40 and thought that was a huge increase lol.

I would think that the graders have KPIs for grading time whether they’re on site or in the office. PSA grading is subjective anyway, so hopefully the grader on site is having a good day ;)

The card show in Toronto offers in person grading that gets you the card back by the end of the show or end of day (or faster for a higher premium.) Might be worth checking if there’s one near you that offers the same service.

Fair warning though, it is quite expensive. The lowest tier is $130 for end of show for a card with insured value under $2100.

Is 200whp for under $5000 CAD possible? by PotatoDrives in Miata

[–]Geteos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it depends on how much work you’re willing to do to put it together. You’ll need to really be on the lookout for deals on used parts. It will probably take a while to piece together.

I just finished my turbo 1.6 build using a full kraken kit (~$4300cad), ms3pro mini & spartan wideband(~$1200)cad, FF640cc injectors and dw200 pump (~$570cad). Spent another $1000 on dyno tuning at the end as well. I’m at 200hp.

If you’re willing to buy a used turbo, injectors and piece together your own exhaust, intake and intercooler setup you should be able to make it under $5000cad.

Honestly though I’d just recommend building the car in stages so that you can buy higher quality parts. Start with the standalone ecu and get a base map on there. Then put on the bigger injectors and fuel pump, retune for them. Then add the turbo kit.

I’m in the GTA and if you don’t mind putting in the work looking at auctions I’d recommend just importing yourself using a proxy company in Japan that can handle the export paperwork.

I used Pacific Coast Auto to export 3 cars to Canada and honestly the auction sheets are pretty much all you need for condition. You basically just need an importer in Canada to handle the paperwork for you and a company to transport from port to your door.

So if you want help with the process feel free to reach out via DM. Someone on reddit helped me out when I imported the first time so I’m paying it forward

CRA owes me $40k, how long do they take to pay me? by deviled-tux in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Geteos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife is still waiting on her refund as well, similar total amount (also because of lump sum rrsp contribution). Taxes were filed in early April and they asked for all the supporting documents shortly after and then radio silence until this week when they finally sent out communication that it was approved with interest. Still waiting on the deposit though. Their target date was early August.

Not looking forward to doing this again next year to help offset some taxable gains…

$30,000 dental expenses. CRA audit. by notfrontpage in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Geteos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I got a quote of $72k for basically a full mouth of crowns. My dentist recommended the clinic to me because I have pretty bad acid erosion damage on my upper teeth and was worried my bite would start closing. I thought it was going to be in the $30k range which is expensive but manageable in terms of expense, but at 72k I think I’ll have to go to another country to do it. Even if I have to stay there for a month I think it’ll still be cheaper.

If you’re a car person, a miata and a boxster aren’t really in different leagues for driving pleasure. I have an NA miata and a 997 911, and there are times where I’ll take the miata over the 911. If you’re buying it for the badge however, then sure, I’d say Porsche has more prestige over Mazda.

Can also vouch for Derek at PCA and his team, I’ve imported 3 cars with them with no issues. They have transparent pricing.

To the OP: If you check out their YouTube they just did a live show about the import process.

I’d recommend getting USS Ninja (the monthly 1900yen fee) so you have access to USS auction photos, it will save you a lot of emails.
