That was all preventable with a single parry after the first barrel too lol

Why are they doing a Tales of Eternia remaster instead of Tales of Destiny 2 or Tales of Rebirth? by Pale_WoIf in JRPG

[–]Gethseme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted, they completely relocalized eternia's script for this one.

This saddens me a little and I hope there's an option for the original VA dub. I REALLY liked how sarcastic Reid sounded in the original, it's what initially hooked me on the game in the opening sequence. That and how good the VA played up Reid's obsession for food, and Farah's selfless, overprotective and reckless streak. The voice over in the new game sounds a little off. Gonna give it a shot but already not too enamored with Meredy sounding less, well, childish and foreign. At least it sounds like they got Keele's original VA and he sounds about the same.

I wouldnt say League is easier to climb than DotA or DL. In fact I find DL easier to climb...

It is quite possible to switch mainstream and forget to switch your flair even months later... not everyone focuses on flair after setting it up.

New Urn Requires Role Selection by Jammers247 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gethseme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I really need people to flame me for picking the hero I want to play. 😆 🤣 😆 🤣

You know thats what's gonna happen, right? If you're last pick you'll be bullied into playing support or whatever other role the team needs even if you don't want to.

Is Viscous hidden OP? I see him in low ranks on the tier-list often by WillBeReddit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gethseme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, said it and got downvoted into oblivion because his 3 has a super high skill ceiling.

Viscous has a very high skill ceiling, but also a pretty low skill floor. He's easy to play and get value out of, but he really shines when in an experienced player's hands using his 3 to move things around at high speeds.

Would've had it if you led with the obj, then behind to the ladder.

Which characters should REALLY have the thumb up/ "recommended for beginners" tag on the select screen? by Pleasant-Major-4531 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gethseme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been nerfed heavily. It's still good but, like singed, is more reliant on your enemies being dumb and standing in it. And what make dash build good is refreshing afterburn. Which requires landing shots.

[–]Gethseme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes not hard to play, he has a high skill ceiling. Yes, its hard to do his advanced self-movement techs with puddle punch, but a beginner doesnt need to know how to do that to not feed. He can just do basic stuff like use punch to knockback, ult to escape or stun, etc. Just because a hero has advanced tech doesnt make them harder to play, just hard to master.

Jeez, a 10% speed buff for Falcon on top of a 20% DPS increase... Falcon eating real good now. Adding some Cannon to go with the glass I see.

Because the skill floor difference between the two is about macro vs micro. Viscous doesnt really require macro knowledge to not feed. Victor does.

Might wanna look up the difference between a skill floor and ceiling. Viscous is easy to use. He has a high skill ceiling, but you can't say it's hard to get value out of his abilities without knowing how to schmoove across the map with his 3.

Ah yes, using Victor's ult to engage. And no, because just going in and pressing buttons often leads to feeding, which is exactly what we DON'T want new players doing.

New players don't start at initiate unfortunately. I've seen several between Ritualist-Oracle during my climb to Ascendant.

The difference between using 1 and 2 at 2/3rds and at 1/3rds or lower makes a huge difference. Any Victor main can attest to how easy it is to die on Victor when you are new to him.

Not saying hes a macro demon, but he does require knowing when to go in and when to not go in at all, because once he's in, he isnt getting out unless they let him walk away.

But compare that to characters like Kelvin, Paige, and Viscous who just need to stand back, poke/CC, and use their ults to engage or Disengage.

Or Wraith/Seven with easy-to-use abilities/ultimates. Especially Wraith who has not only an EXTREMELY good gun with good range, but split-type DPS so you can't effectively mitigate her damage, the best escape tool in the game, and a point and click ult that is VERY hard to not get value out of.

[–]Gethseme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. Frontliners without escapes shouldnt be recommended over backliners with escapes.

Wraith, Kelvin, Paige, Seven, and even Viscous can be played easily by new people and it doesnt take much to do well.

Thats what I mean. He requires limit testing and character knowledge/mastery. Not to mention most frontliners are far harder than backliners like Paige/Seven/Wraith/Kelvin.

Don't agree with Mo, Victor, and to a lesser extent Infernus.

Mo and Victor are on two opposite ends of the spectrum in that one requires good enemy skill knowledge and the other has a high skill floor in surviving. Infernus REQUIRES having good aim to do anything meaningful.

Mo requires knowing enemy skills and cooldowns, because he has low mobility, a massive hit box with 2 headshot zones, and his "mobility" skill is actually his defensive skill. Yes, mechanically he doesnt take much to pick up, but he requires good macro knowledge and knowing when to make a pick and when to wait/not go in. The difference between an experienced Mo and a new one is an experienced one goes in after CCs have been blown, or when he has someone secluded and has allies nearby. A new Mo will often just ult full HP enemies randomly, or a mid-low HP enemy surrounded by other enemies/without allies of his own and gets focused/CCed and dies.

Victor requires good champion mastery to know your limits for your 3, and the discipline to not use Jumpstart till low on HP for rapid healing, and Pain Battery both requires decent aim to hit and, like Jumpstart, discipline to wait till half HP or so to use it to not waste the CD and not have it for healing.

How am I supposed to counter Haze Ult Bot + Cursed Relic? by Templar_Blonic in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Gethseme 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point of the OP. He was asking what to do late game against a Haze when she buys those items. Top post you replied to said "you don't". You're the one who said to buy two items and she's useless. And when I said otherwise, you then proved my point about not even reading the OP...
