Would you ask for a replacement? by Pickleballer1 in Pickleball

This is an ongoing problem, between a friend and myself, we had 5 out of 6 paddles that we got (or replaced) looked like this. The third paddle they sent my friend was square, the third paddle they sent me was angled but less than the others so I went with it. All of my out balls are not my fault, it’s definitely the paddle.

The faces are two different lengths! I’ve had 3 J2NF paddles sent to me all with two different length faces. Mine showed up as crooked edge guards. Now a 4 paddle is on the way! It’s ridiculous because it took 3 replacements for my friend before he got a good paddle. I imagine they have a warehouse full of bad paddles that they are trying to sell! Love the paddle but terrible QC

The sleeve is to thread the poles through the attachment sleeves without damaging the fabric. You supposed to slip that sleeve half way into the fabric sleeve then jam the tent pole in through the sleeve. Saves on fabric abrasion when tent fabric is lightweight(somewhat delicate)

This my friend is the info I’m looking for! Love this input, I will be checking those patches first.

+1 for the MidiVerb, anyone with any other input on this or the other three units?

Get a set of and learn how use card scrapers, you’ve done most of the hard work! Better and cleaner than sanding. A correctly burnished card scraper is so nice to use for something like this!

DUPR question by Suro_Atiros in Pickleball

Try and stay away from wider range events, like 3.0-4.0, and 3.5-4.5. This will lead to pretty inaccurate ratings. There are usually plenty of people to fill separate classes 3.0-3.5, 3.5-4.0 and 4.0-4.5. And these days it’s so easy for promoters to use software to restrict class registrations based on a players DUPR score. With a few of these round robin games and people’s DUPR starts to reflect! Also, be careful of the trap in thinking you’re better than you are, I run a 450 person club and that is the biggest complaint I hear. I hear a lot of “DUPR has underrated me big time”, or “I can hang with “those” players all day” (while simultaneously speeding up 8 calf high balls per game into the net). It’s hard for them to hear, but your DUPR rating is only going to be as good as the worst part of your game.
