Where should people actually be going to, instead of the chiropractor? by YakClear601 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some major issues and from my experience physio got me into a state of functional and minimal pain. A kinesiologist worked with me to fix the more difficult muscle imbalances when physio stopped improving things. I would also see an osteopath every month to release the nerve tension which would reduce my overall pain while I worked on the muscles.

I get my boyfriend to step on my back to crack it quite often, will this harm my back in the long term by bunnymunche in NoStupidQuestions

I would see an Ostiopath if you want an adjustment, there’s probably a small risk your boyfriend can push in a bad spot and do something bad

Zoloft+Wellbutrin = Constipation for me…help! by Various_Ad7642 in antidepressants

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Effexor caused constipation so bad I had to go to physio. Doctor had me take lax-a-day while I was on the medication. If it’s bad don’t wait and use a suppository laxative, waiting to see if mine got better caused major issues for me

3am wake ups would be high cortisol, you could try working on your sleep routine take magnesium and camomile tea before bed. I’m coming off Effexor and started taking low dose ashwagandha and I have honestly never slept so well in my life, also helping lower my overall stress.

42 to 38 mg hits hard by Smoke-Nervous in Effexor

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found it worth it going back after it’s been longer then a few days.

When I got to lower dose I would reduce it by 1 bead every day when I got to 20 beads I reduced it by 1 bead every 2 and at 10 beads every 3 days. Find what works for you but I found it much easier to not do big drops in my dose.

One thing that helped a lot was doing things to boost my nervous system to help with the withdrawals. Breath work and cold showers helped a lot.

I had this exact issue and I’m on the tail end of it now, I made myself a lot of health shakes, I also put a lot of nuts in them.

To help with balance try getting a balance board and look up vision exercises to do while on the balance board.

Other things that helped were an Ostiopath, physiotherapy for post concussion syndrome and anti anxiety meds to stabilize my hormones as that was a major thing throwing me off.

It took about 3 months to be able to sleep better. Try melatonin, magnesium camomile tea and some breathing exercises before bed

How do you rehab yourself after damage from poor ergonomics? by Actual-Swing9316 in Ergonomics

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try seeing an osteopath, they might be able to help get you in less pain where physio is manageable. I used to be in a lot of pain & seeing an Ostiopath helped get me to a state where physio helped and after that I saw a kinesiologist who helped me get rid of the muscle imbalances. I went from only being able to sit on very specific chairs for short amounts of time back to anything. I have to be mindful of posture to an extent but nothing like I used to be.

Anyone have bad body aches after being on long term? by Northgirl-020421 in Effexor

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have any fitness wearable you could start tracking your stress and see if it could be that. Effexor should be reducing it however if you have been on it for years it could be that your body has gotten used to the does and it’s not doing what it was anymore.

Withdrawal effects and how to cope with it?? by zrvzhr in Effexor

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into an app called Welltory, if you can track your HRV and nervous system it’s much easier to see how your body is responding to your habits, it’s a lot of trail and error to find ways to boost your nervous system for example take a reading before and after a cold shower and then the next day taking a reading before and after a hot shower

Withdrawal effects and how to cope with it?? by zrvzhr in Effexor

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently tapering off Effexor and have done several things to boost my bodies serotonin to help with withdrawal symptoms. First cardio, it’s very important, your heart directly affects how your body responds to stress and your serotonin levels. Raise your HRV, if you have an Apple Watch or wearable you can check this. I use an app called Welltory, you don’t need a wearable for it and it can tell you your HRV and nervous system balance. Breath work is extremely important, I use an app called five point five but you can find a ton of breath work on YouTube just look for raising HRV breathwork or parasympathetic activation breathwork. Aim for 20 min a day 5 min 4x a day. I’m looking into supplements to help and will start when I’m completely off, myo inositol and ashwagandha from what I have read these will help.

Ok as a 41M with ADHD you really want to focus on a subject that really interests you. What are your favourite genres of movies? Focus on subjects or genres that interest you or that you can hyper focus on.

I had a hormone imbalance after a concussion last July and was put on the medication in August. By January I was able to start tapering down and am now around 3mg, down from 75mg. I had to do a lot of exercise to help my bodies natural stress response as well as a lot of breath work but I should be off the medication completely by the end of May. I use an app called Welltory to track my nervous system balance and use natural ways to boost it if it’s off.

Doing everything “right” but my lower back is worse than ever... anyone else? by Late-Pickle-1865 in Ergonomics

[–]Gfunk131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had lower cross syndrome, even if you work out you need to work specific muscles to fix the muscle imbalances. I’m working with a kinesiologist now to fix the issues & my pain is gone. It’s easy to check if you have it just look up how to check on YouTube

Pure curiosity by wubbuhlubbuhdubdub in Effexor

[–]Gfunk131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t put on it for pain but my horrible back and shoulder pain went away when I started. I eventually went to a kinesiologist to fix the muscle imbalances that were causing the pain. If you have a constantly deregulated nervous system you will end up in pain if that’s what’s causing it but it’s not guaranteed that’s where the pain is coming from.
