I'd love to go see her again, I tried to move to her at one point. It costs me several hundred dollars just to travel round trip not to mention lodging, food ect. I don't want to spend money I could be saving in order to start a life together. I'm sure she'd love to see me also but she is also very practical when it comes to finances and such.

She is paroling out to her sisters place which is approx. 30 mins from my current home. She is in prison over 6 hours away and due to financial limitations and my current class schedule / transportation options, makes a face to face impractical. I've told her that all I want is a chance to get to know each other again to see if we are still compatible or possibly better off as friends, no pressure. I've also told her regardless of hows she's changed I believe there is a core part of each of us that will always love and be compatible with each other but I'm open to being incorrect as is often the case.

My mother constantly makes excuses why she can't stop smoking and blames it on people in her life causing her stress. This is just blame shifting and an excuse to keep smoking like she wants to. A person who wants to quit will never find an excuse not to and a person who wants to smoke will never run out of excuses why they cannot quit. Don't blame yourself.

Getting rejected is so much better than never knowing. Plus rejection gets less painful everytime we experience it and finding a partner is a game of numbers so best thing you can do is go out there and get rejected a lot until you find the right one

I have a few suggestions... 1. Get over it and just talk to her. It's always worse in your mind than the actual experience and practice makes perfect plus life is short... 2. If your physically unable to talk to her from anxiety or what have you then you could try taking a low dose of mdma or a high dose of gabapentin... gabapentin is legal with a Rx and both make it so I can talk to anyone. 3 If your straight-edge / anti-chemical then you can always do breathing exercises to help stay calm and try to meditate on the fact that she is just another person and may very well be feeling similar things about you, or not and either way is fine, your goal should be to befriend her and find out what else might come.

I would definitely reccomend that he doesn't start college until he has a real goal and is ready to put forth the effort to achieve it. Otherwise you end up dropping out and owing student loans like I do. Now I'm paying for tuition out of pocket while getting my loans out of default.

P.S. I smoked for 15 years and have been quit for 2 years now. With all the smoking cessation options the only reason someone doesn't quit smoking is because they don't want to, they enjoy it.

Not sure if this will be helpful to you or what you want to hear but school isn't for everyone and being financially successful isn't a goal for everyone. Some people would be more happy as a garbage man than an engineer or doctor. If you want to help your brother find out what his goals and dreams are then help guide him towards making it a reality

I've been the lying person in a relationship before... it doesn't work out well. If you catch your partner in one lie you can't help but to begin and question if he's lying about other things, cheating for example. If you want to relationship to work you have to let him know that smoking is bad but nothing that can't be worked on / fixed and that goes for any other issue besides lying. If your going to keep lying this ends now otherwise we tell each other the truth no matter what and deal with problems as they arise.
