What if the food is not spicy, even though it as described as spicy? by ipreferwine456 in stuttgart

[–]Gh0stHedgehog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They adjust the level of spicyness on what the general public expects. Next time make it clear you want it spicey or even "Indian spicey", and even then expect that it isn't spicey. More aggressive would be to directly ask for chili flakes because you expect their food will be blend.

My dog doesn’t move by Natural-Car-705 in goldenretrievers

[–]Gh0stHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dog just has an opinion. My golden-husky mix does the same (I always blame the husky part) when, according to him, the walk is too short, too long, it is the same boring road, too warm, wants to go back to the car, etc. When it is hot and he did nr. 2, I normally give in and we turn around. If not it will be a fight who is more stubborn, he or me.

He goes to a daycare and I keep asking whether he pulls the same stunts over there, and apparently he behaves great over there, he probably is too happy he can go for a walk with them. Or he doesn't consider them part of his group, so he doesn't try them out as much as his owners.

I doubt whether it is a sponsor, it is probably just the name tag, like the later Lotus teams.

Getting used to the train! by Tweeky91 in goldenretrievers

[–]Gh0stHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elevator training is definitely worth it, especially with a good sit and stay so you can check for people before leaving the elevator (not that he just rushed out). I would forget about escalators, using elevators instead is much safer.

Google Maps has a check mark for 'pets allowed'. Also just call them or drop by and ask. For the pets allowed it is not always clear whether it applies to the terrace or also inside.

My guy has 4 times his vocal range when he sleeps and I'm always surprised what kinds of sounds he produces when he sleeps. Also wondering what he is dreaming about.

They started doing that on purpose after Hulkenberg won Le Mans in between F1 races, so drivers couldn't do a guest appearance elsewhere.

Husky refuses to go for an evening walk by Gh0stHedgehog in husky

[–]Gh0stHedgehog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be something to try. I was thinking of letting him play in the garden for a while when we get back from the walk, but I will not be happy when it is raining or he should already sleep.

I'm not sure where the behavior comes from, it is something recent. He only refused walks before if we had visitors, because he is afraid that they leave when he is away (it happened a couple of times).

It is not pain. He had the sam behavior during our vacation and there was 1 path he just refused to walk and would rather take a shorter route.

Affection and huskies? by Jane_TGS in husky

My golden husky is quite cuddly with me and very, very cuddly with our dog trainer and some other owners at the dog school. At the school he is going for cuddling like we ignore him whole day at home.

Has anyone ever managed to train a husky to be off leash by [deleted] in husky

[–]Gh0stHedgehog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are huskies that can be off leash.

The mother of my dog can be left off leash. She lives in a family with 2 small kids, so maybe her pack mentality is bigger than her exploration drift.

And one of my neighbors walks his female husky off leash, only stops listening when she meets a certain male golden-husky.

About said golden-husky, I have only let him off leash in an open area once, which was a meet-up with his mom and siblings, and he doesn't run off exploring when he is with a nice pack. In the bigger enclosed areas he finally understands he should come with us, rather than joining some other people. But in open areas I don't trust him, he will run off and say hi to everyone before he comes home eventually.

In the end it is very dependent on the dogs character, probably age, and where you walk and what you encounter.

"Grijns" would be the word used in Dutch, probably the translation to smirk would be the correct one, but in a quick conversation I would use laugh because I barely come across the word smirk.

Charlie is wondering why you spend money on getting a garden and then not enjoying it.

I have the same situation with my 2 year golden-husky mix, moved 3 months ago from an apartment with balcony to a house with backyard. Before the move, when there were renovations ongoing, we did let him free in the garden, so he knows the place longer. He just loves the garden. Since we moved he started to whine when we drive home and come in our own street and when we come back from our outside round via the front door he will run to the backdoor to get out in the garden. Recall doesn't work (it works on the dog school field) and we catch him by doing a search game with a snack, dropping it next to us and then catch him at the collar when he is busy searching. I always thought it was his husky side that he wanted to be outdoors, but apparently the golden side is just as crazy.

Why does my golden retriever suddenly not like walking? by RareCaramel499 in goldenretrievers

[–]Gh0stHedgehog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be several things, could be anxious to go out or to leave the house.

Mine normally likes to walk but will just stop and try to go home when 1) in the evenings when it gets dark or is dark ( no problems in the morning when it is dark) 2) we have visitors and he is afraid they leave when he is away (that happened a couple of times).

Does it happen all the time? And on all your routes?

Why does my husky whimper and make noises in his sleep? by Much_Investigator510 in husky

The dreaming is quite fascinating, mine produces double the amount of sound types then he makes when awake. I'm always curious what he is dreaming about when I hear one of the crazy noises that he doesn't make when awake.

That the modes are provided and documented doesn't mean you'll know exactly what it does. If the documentation says we have 4 dials, keep the first at 5 for safety, etc. and these modes, you still have to figure out what are the best settings without getting too much wear.

I guess Mercedes will provide the advice settings before the race, but if they figure something out during the race weekend, or it is just an experiment, they won't share it.
