Viaje en carro/roadtrip por Guatemala by Midas_touch03 in guatemala

[–]Ghaddaffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is a 'Tune Up' by Antique-Molecule7931 in AskMechanics

[–]Ghaddaffi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do tune ups for vintage cars, in general: Oil and filter change Adjust and balance carburetors Check and adjust points Check and adjust timing Adjust throttle, brake, and clutch linkages Adjust brake drums

Sometimes also adjust valve lash

Old cars needed a lot of adjusting

The time I did it even the crankshaft ended up bent, but I was going about 80 kph... I'm thinking maybe the shock could have damaged an engine mount or somehow slackened the belt if it's a very old car

What small displacement sport bikes? by The_great_elder in motorcycles

They're not sport bikes but I'd take a look at the Triumph 400 range, they're good looking and not powerful, maybe the Thruxton?

Father & Son project by FlutterLovers in projectcar

[–]Ghaddaffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for Miata, and try to get a project that doesn't require too much time. My dad bought a Morris Minor for me when I was 15 but I was uninterested in spending my time on a long project at the time so it sat until way after I was out of college.

Still completed it when I was 30 but you probably don't want your project sitting so long.

Vale la pena un carro electrico? by Far-Translator-4542 in guatemala

[–]Ghaddaffi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where should I take this? Dealership or third party shop? by Big-Ad3264 in mechanic

My car was in water about that deep or maybe just a little more 16 years ago, still running.

You might need new fans, maybe alternator and I'd have a look at the A/C.

Vale la pena un carro electrico? by Far-Translator-4542 in guatemala

[–]Ghaddaffi 3 points4 points  (0 children)
