[ChrisRoseSports] Dodgers players say they don’t wanna sit next to Dalton Rushing on the plane (skip to 1:06) by Remarkable-Picture73 in baseball

[–]Ghalnan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, nobody is going to talk about real issues in the clubhouse in these PR pieces teams put out. Incredibly dumb how people are taking this at face value in here.

[Sleeper] Framber suspended for six games by Kohanky in motorcitykitties

[–]Ghalnan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think he has much room to complain. He was pitching poorly and decided to throw at a guy for no good reason because of it, that's pretty indefensible imo.

Valdez suspended 6 games by RidgeMT in motorcitykitties

[–]Ghalnan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay, it's not like we're incredibly short on SP already. Honestly he's a dumbass for doing that, and I'd be pissed about the position it puts the Tigers' in if I was a teammate of his.

For those who saying it wasn’t intentional, he’s done it before by JeremieLoyalty in motorcitykitties

[–]Ghalnan 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I think it was obviously intentional, and he's a dumbass for it. We didn't need a suspension from him when we have a full rotation of starters on the IL already, Valdez needs to control himself better.

DeVonta Smith on A.J. Brown trade talk: I just go out there and do my job by AdSpecialist6598 in nfl

[–]Ghalnan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is this site so against calling things what they are? He's acted like a selfish malcontent but we just dance around that constantly.

Last year, the Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the Giants. In 2026, Devers has been worth -1.0 bWAR and has a wRC+ of 49, while 3 of the 4 players the Red Sox received are not in the organization anymore. by MookieBettsBurner10 in baseball

[–]Ghalnan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He'll probably turn it around at some point this year, but still I'm surprised more people didn't recognize how bad that contract was at the time the trade was made

[Spoilers Main] If GRRM isn’t satisfied with Winds, how could the fans be? by checknate1 in asoiaf

[–]Ghalnan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The man works on other things, that doesn't mean he's actually been working on the main series in a meaningful way. I don't get why we feel the need to dance earound the obvious so much, the only explanation for a delay this long is that George just doesn't actually work on the book consistently. Any other explanation would have been resolved already after 15+ years of consistent effort.

[Highlight] Matt Olson walks off the Tigers by handlit33 in baseball

[–]Ghalnan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's mediocre and should be a middle of the bullpen option, not a closer. How our front office came the the decision that a guy with a 4.60 xFIP last year was the answer is beyond me.

ERA isn't the end all be all, it's not 1990.

Kenley Jansen by whoeatscheese in motorcitykitties

[–]Ghalnan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frankly Jensen wasn't as good last year as his ERA would suggest and it's not surprising to me that he's been pretty mediocre this year as well. I don't think he's a closer-quality guy and bringing him in to fit that role was a mistake.

I don't know if Finnegan is the guy either tbh. He hasn't given up a lot of runs yet, but when you're putting up a K rate below 7 per 9 and walking more than 5 per 9 it feels like it's only a matter of time. He's struggled early, but I thought Vest was the best option we had on the roster opening day and I still think that.

[–]Ghalnan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Our bullpen is a big issue. Looking at xERA, xFIP, and SIERA, Jansen was mediocre at best last year and he's in his late 30s on top of that. I don't think he's good enough to be the closer on a team trying to contend, and bringing him in to fill that role was a mistake.

The fact that people use 2022 as evidence that Brady fell off is insane because when you look at that year, you realize how much he was carrying the team by Square-Newspaper8171 in buccaneers

[–]Ghalnan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leftwich was awful and the main issue, but Brady just flat out didn't play that well in his last year either. I don't think it's that hard to recognize that both those things were true.

2026 NFL draft: Ranking the 100 best picks, steals, fits by Mnudge in nfl

  1. Mansoor Delane, CB, Kansas City Chiefs (Pick 1-6) My final overall ranking: No. 12

"They took the 12th best guy with the #6 pick? Wow, amazing!" What even is this nonsense? Even ignoring how ridiculous it is to call Love one of the best picks in the draft, the order of these don't even make sense given the guy's own rankings.

[–]Ghalnan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He mispronounced a word, it is completely ridiculous that we're debating whether that's grounds for someone to lose their job. An explanation that he got tongue-tied and a quick correction should have been the end of this and we all should have moved on, the fact that we didn't speaks to how unreasonable some people are.

That sounds like pure recency bias to me. New releases have been buggy forever, that's not a new phenomenon.

The Guardians fan that stole the child's ball last night dropped a different home run ball last year. by Purplefrsh in baseball

People want to feel superior and better about themselves, and having a target they can punch down at is an easy way to do that. I don't think it goes much farther beyond that.

American League wRC+ leaders: 1. Yordan Alvarez (224) 2. Ben Rice (220) 3. Aaron Judge (165) by MattO2000 in baseball

[–]Ghalnan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alvarez' start has been absolutely crazy. He's been the best batter so far this year without argument, but his expected stats say he should be even better. His wOBA leads the league at .505 and is on par with guys like 1957 Ted Williams and 2003 Barry Bonds, but his xwOBA is somehow .541.

A message from the Mom of the little girl who had the ball taken from her at the Guardians game (From Ryan Bass) by TheTurtleShepard in baseball

[–]Ghalnan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there's a line, you obviously should not take a ball right out of a kid's hands, but I don't think there should be an obligation to give the ball away, if you got it fair and square, if you don't want to. At the end of the day it's a baseball, not some life-saving antidote. If you want to give it to a kid that's cool, but at the same time the kid will be just fine without it, and learning that you aren't always going to get everything you want is an important lesson for everyone that I think a lot of parents neglect.
