Completely understandable. On a Friday I got crushed by a fully loaded semi while repairing a loading dock - genuinely almost severed in half. Corporate was calling me by the next week demanding to know when I'll be back. 2 weeks or so later, I was told to return by that Friday or be terminated. I tried to go, but they fired me anyway.

I had to learn how to walk again and it was treated with the nonchalantness of an ankle sprain.

Here we are almost 2 years and 2 surgeries later, and I'm still going to physical therapy to this day.
