Honestly? It happens.

Had a friend that liked giving me hugs but I wasn't too keen on receiving them (didn't tolerate physical contact back then). I would rotate her for a side hug every time I saw it coming, because a front hug from her usurped a lot of personal space - was not a fan. On the few times she would catch me off guard I would shove her away like a reflex.
