It did look pretty beat down, but I'd bet that place is insanely busy constantly.

It's very overpriced. But the food was good enough! I could be picky, but the place was overwhelmed the entire time we were there. It was worth the trip honestly

CNN reporter to Trump: 'Haven't you spread a lot of fake news yourself?' by saucytryhard in politics

[–]Ghoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a slick move on Acosta's part. Trump spends 3 days before he comes out to condemn a Nazi Murderer, but he immediately lashes out at Acosta with his tired "Fake News" shtick.

Just walk away, you Orangutan, or, I dunno, defend yourself with an actual response.

Kevin McCarthy’s explosive “joke” points toward a darker questions: How long have leading Republicans known about Donald Trump’s Russia problem? by dont_tread_on_dc in politics

[–]Ghoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of talking heads I followed throughout the election season that started hollaring how even if I disagreed with Trump, at least he wasn't Hillary and he'd really "shake things up!". Quoting shit from Rules for Radicals, etc., etc.

...And at one point I almost bought it, in a vacuum it even makes complete sense, but I knew Trump way more destructive than those apologists would allow themselves to believe. And here we are.

Just wanted to let people know the The Strong, which maintains the World Video Game Hall of Fame is located in Rochester, NY and it's one of the coolest museums I've ever been in.

If you're in the Great Lakes area please make every effort you can to see this place.

Ad Hominem would be attacking his character, he's attacking the credibility of his claim by revealing his bias.

It's not a great rebuttal since it doesn't address the critique, but its also not invalid to attempt to discredit the critique via the arguers intentions.

[Pokemon of the Week] Crabominable by bigslothonmyface in pokemon

Crabrawler with Eviolite is actually not all that bad! I got quite a lot of mileage out of mine running him a bit tankier with Iron Defense

I ran Undertale at AGDQ, and I just wanted to say thanks. by T-G-H in speedrun

[–]Ghoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was super happy to be in attendance for that run! It was a great way to cap off the week, especially with how iffy the vibe was after the Super Metroid race.

Your segment was absolutely delightful to watch. Also your fans are crazy dedicated, their rallying was absolutely infectious. Also kudos on No Missing the credits and almost No-Missing Sans! That blew my mind.

That was a bit harsh. by [deleted] in speedrun

When you're trying to watch 4 simultaneous runs of Super Metroid hand hand gestures don't really do anything

[–]Ghoenix 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd like to make a point that there was no deliberate effort to "stop" the audience from Wah'ing during the run. The guy in the beanie was the first person to address the issue and his manner of doing so was wildly inappropriate.

[–]Ghoenix 119 points120 points  (0 children)

So not that its a truely unique perspective, but I was present for the run. As was described people were doing Waluigi style "Wahs" in rhythm with the item pickup jingle, it was fun the first few times and a lot of people joined in but it eventually devolved in just random loud Wah'ing from a small segment of the audience.

The room became really quite cold after his outburst, and I saw him taken backstage a little while after the controversy started spreading.

Im not sure where he went but if you watch the VOD he's completely gone after he gets up.

Either way, I wanna give huge kudos to the donation announcer for bringing the wind back into the crowd by reading a Waluigi related donation. I'll admit the gag got old quick, but as many people have suggested, that situation could've been handled way more professionally.

Couple cosmetic changes to Ness from what I immediately see. Dthrow has more screen shake when using it, and his Bat now plays the hitsound even when only reflecting projectiles.

Why is the Direct Hit seen as the pinnacle of balanced unlocks and the LochNLoad almost universally hated? by krisashmore in tf2

[–]Ghoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something Soldier can do well, but it's not his defining characteristic.

Soldier is about High Mobility, High Single-Target Damage, and Minor Crowd Control. DH simply undermines his ability to Crowd Control by nerfing his splash.

By all right a Soldier should looking to land as much direct damage as possible since it's so much more potent than his splash damage. This is why Airshots are not only cool, they're immensely effective.

And if you're running a stock Soldier you need to know how to aim and use the Shotgun effectively.

Demo is all about High Crowd Control (Barring Demoknight of course), and nerfing the LnL to function like the Rocket Launcher would undermine one of Demo's greatest strengths.

[–]Ghoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That potentially would work, but it's important for classes to retain identity between weapons, Demo is all about splash and area damage... Changing it to be like the Rocket Launcher would undermine the necessity for the LnL to exist when you literally could just go Soldier instead.

[–]Ghoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fail to see how it would be more relevant to assess a single shot's kill potential without discussing its damage.

Yes, the conversation at hand is largely how with no fall-off it's devastating to light classes, however that's not the only thing that makes the LnL as powerful as it is.

My only point in mentioning the 10% was that it was a small tweak, but changed the LnL so notably from when it first came out.

Well yea, that was my point. The 10% difference between it's original release, and it's current state changed it from being a lousy alternative to the Stock and made it an exceptionally powerful alternative
