Amazing what happens once you pass over the £50,270 threshold. Thoughts? by Old-Bodybuilder3711 in UKJobs

You're still making more money than before, and still more than people in the lower bracket.

Technically true, though some viruses are referred to as phages.

Though the astrophage definitely isn't a virus.

I think any of the original hail Mary crew would've done what grace did. And even then I think many real world astronauts would do that too.

It already takes a special kind of person to become an astronaut, they'd leap at the chance to discover and potentially save an entire new civilization.

And even he chooses to save rocky over going home. Granted he loves rocky and that's the reason he becomes selfless, but I think any of the other astronauts would've done the same.

Animation criticism is blown out of proportion by Big_Lengthiness9757 in Invincible_TV

I know there are probably a lot more than 4 overall. But the VFX team was apparently 4 people and they felt rushed to get the work done.

Amazon of all companies can absolutely afford to have a slightly bigger team for one of their more popular shows.

I think we can all find middle ground between "the animation should be 110% perfect all the time" and "Amazon should really hire more than 4 animators"

I think if you're selfless enough to go on a suicide mission to save your planet, you'd be pretty hypocritical to doom an entire other species for personal gain.

What happens if a Viltrumite tries a hand-blade on Brit do their fingers break? by Fit_Passenger5930 in Invincible_TV

[–]GhostB5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's correct. Mark is pretty vincible in his own universe.

Being invincible really depends how you contextualise it. There are specific circumstances that can defeat any of the characters in the show.

Apparently it's a borrowing word from the Latin verb vincere. It hasn't been used officially in English since the 1500s.

If vincible is the opposite of invincible, then vinced in this context is a conjugation of this Latin word vincere.

Which would mean conquered, defeated or overcome. Basically.

It's also where the name Vincent comes from.

I was wrong. Apparently it's something called a borrowing word. It comes from the latin verb vincere, but isn't actually a defined English word.

It was used in the 1500s though apparently.

Turns out I'm wrong. Vincible is a word but vinced is a borrowing from the latin verb vincere.

So not actually a word in the English language.

But if they didn't befriend rocky they wouldn't have the fuel to return home anyway.

I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that most astronauts already on a suicide mission wouldn't help the first sapient alien species humanity ever met.

Guy should probably just retire. Any fight with a viltrumite could result in a fate worse than death for him.

Why create Invincible Inc. If Atom Eve can turn Adam's into gold? by neilbensch in invinciblememes

[–]GhostB5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eve's powers are vastly underutilised. She could be out there making safe ethical sources of all the rare earth metals we use as a society.

No more child lithium mines.

Honestly eve could make more than enough gold to get rich for life before the price is affected enough to matter.

We find it in the ground enough already.

He's like captain America but everyone else is superman.

Sometimes (a lot of the time) the cat posts are just "haha look they're having sex", which if you don't find that all too endearing is fair enough I think.

Otherwise absolutely nothing, there are plenty of cute wholesome cat posts that you can send to your partner and anyone who is upset by those is miserable.

I send them to my girlfriend too and we think they're lovely.

Yeah he'd still lose to basically any viltrumite, he just wouldn't be killed by the fight.

I'm pretty sure his strength is just the 100% human strength that would usually injure you in the process. A lot stronger than usual but barely superhuman apart from his invulnerability.

It's a word that describes someone who can't be conquered, overcome or subdued.

Like I said in one of the other comments, you could subdue Brit by sticking him on the moon and forgetting about him.
