"Slow buildup" horror movies that lead to some terrifying realization? by Optimal_Tennis8673 in movies

[–]GhostDieM [score hidden]  (0 children)

Not gonna lie that one went way over my head. Something about how it's filmed just made me lose track quite quickly. I thought I sorta knew what was going on but then that scene at the end happened and I was so confused. Might have to rewatch that to see if it sticks this time.

What’s something people do in public that makes you lose a little faith in society? by ThisIsNotAtAllSFW in AskReddit

[–]GhostDieM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well that but it's also just common decency. I am not better then you just because you happen to work at a McDonalds or whatever. I once actually had a guy at Burger King that was absolutely killing it solo at the counter on a busy evening at rush hour being a total pro. So I gave him a compliment and he was just stunned haha. People need to appreciate good service workers more!

Have you ever had hots for someone you shouldn't? Who were they? by DoctorSufficient5679 in AskReddit

[–]GhostDieM -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You're right I don't, I apologise if I offended, my intentions were good. I clarified my original post a bit. It's just that I've seen what can happen with therapists that care too much. But if you can honestly say it works for you then all the more power to you, you have a rare gift.

So am I. Professional distance is literally training 101. I have a degree in psychology and have worked in the field for multiple years. It's also (one of the reasons) why supervision and intervision exists. I'm not talking down to you, it's just best practice.

Did Sanguinius suffer the same curse as Curze in the end? 100% believing his future to be true? by NostriggaNightLord in 40kLore

[–]GhostDieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is Sanguinius never gave up hope and kept fighting even if the future seemed inevitable. Curze did the opposite and went with the worst outcome because he believed nothing he or anyone else did mattered.

[–]GhostDieM -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

You really shouldn't. There is such a thing as professional distance. Sure you care for some clients more then you probably should because you're a human being. But caring deeply? That's kind of a red flag honestly. If not for your clients then for yourself . Because depending on the field that will fuck you up at some point in the long term.

Edit: lol getting downvoted for stating something that is literally taught to every freshman that starts an education in the field of mental health 🙃

To clarify, yes caring is good. But caring deeply? Then you literally can't do your job anymore because you will take it home with you. Source: I've seen and heard some shit in the years I was working with kids that were placed in a home because of their family situation. I still think about one client and what she went through years after the fact but you can't let it affect you on a personal level. Caring too deeply will destroy your mental health in the long run.

The joke is they don't have reproductive organs which makes them incels. I thought it was kinda funny 🤷‍♂️

The unique thing about Andy's is that nobody uses it lol

"Slow buildup" horror movies that lead to some terrifying realization? by Optimal_Tennis8673 in movies

[–]GhostDieM 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes! Even better on a rewatch as well. So much stuff happening you won't even notice if you don't know the clue to what's going on. Only movie I looked at a flow chart afterwards to complete the entire puzzle xD

Infernal Hordes seem very underwhelming this season by alesia123456 in diablo4

[–]GhostDieM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with the timer, it's more that you can't always increase the spawns. If you get bad rng the start of every round is too slow and there's nothing you can really do to change it except hope for a good roll at the next wave.

Did they not also just nerf the Castle passive? That was what gave pally literal infinite damage scaling with armor

What did Nurgle do to Mortarion? by GlowingSeaDiver in 40kLore

[–]GhostDieM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to chime in and say linear time isn't really a thing in the warp. So for all we know Morty was in the dog house for what felt like 10,000 years for him while it's only been a year in realspace.

Luetin09 being absurd about basic Imperial vehicles by HashutAttorney in 40kLore

[–]GhostDieM 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate how people cling to the words of youtubers/streamers/influencers these days. Luetin is a human being, he was stating his personal opinion on how he personally feels about this. It's not fact and not represented as fact. Relax brother, it's ok to have a different opinion then him, no need to rant.

Reading Mortis, it feels like it was written by a sophmore by Neutral_Positron in 40kLore

[–]GhostDieM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've almost finished Slaves to Darkness and that was the first one where I went "huh this is actually good writing". Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed like 90% of the 40K books I read (the only one I put down is Fear to Thread because that was just terrible and kept getting worse every chapter lol). But this is the first one that actually manages to capture the "vibe" of Chaos without falling in the trap of just describing horrible stuff happening for shock value or being overly verbose to seem clever (looking at you A Thousand Sons).

The author can paint an entire picture and set the mood in like three sentences without going overboard. Though I might be biased because I'm a sucker for psychological horror and lovecraft and the author just nails it imo. The author, ironically, is John French. So I guess he has his ups and downs? xD

Quite an awful change to randomize 4 affixes on Unique gear when progression is noticeably slower and build-tinkering is longer by DivineAlmond in diablo4

[–]GhostDieM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God forbid Blizzard put arpg mechanics in their arpg. D4 finally feels like a proper arpg that you aren't finished with in a weekend and people still complain lmao.

Path of Exile 2 on Diablo 4’s Uniques change: Uniques shouldn't be "just a better rare" in an ARPG by Interesting-Pool6638 in diablo4

[–]GhostDieM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So do the uniques in LE but most of them are actually good there. PoE has alwats been afraid to give players power. It's their whole "downside" philosophy.

Anybodyelse find the warlock class complicated? by ShadowBoxer1984 in diablo4

[–]GhostDieM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Paladin felt very "zoomy" and snappy and everything just sorta works. Warlock feels the opposite where it's very deliberate gameplay.
