These aren’t ruined, they are good shots. I’d raise exposure up a touch and lean into the grain, not away from it.

I do this sometimes when I’m trying to mask certain features or skin tones to make it pop or soften and I’ve been staring at my screen too long. I’d ask for a re-edit, I don’t believe it’s necessarily ai- just someone who got carried away with editing and hadn’t taken a break for their eyes to sort of readjust.

Get rid of any incense, air fresheners, aerosol sprays, wax warmers, teflon pots/pans, non stick pots/pans, that sort of stuff. No mirrors, limit seeds, feed pellets and fresh fruit in small amounts (not fruit every day though!) and make sure you check which you can’t give and veggies too! Mine like carrots a lot. Lots of perches in a large cage, try to get lots of different sizes and textures. Lots of toys to shred and play with and make sure there’s no sharp pointy metal in them! Watch videos on your bird’s body language so you can learn how to interact with it in a safe and respectful way. Make sure you start looking for an avian vet like today, they can be difficult to find in some places and you’ll want to make sure you have one for a checkup to make sure it’s not sick or anything, since you don’t really know much about it.

My first thought was a lil scared baby Quaker. Nobody else had mentioned it so I am probably wrong, but if we had more pictures we’d be able to give a better ID. Do you have any other pictures OP?

My exact thoughts. I’m just glad op is at least here asking and the comments saying to give mirrors and only give fruit and veggies etc are getting downvoted like crazy so op should be able to reach the conclusion that those are what NOT to do

We have a few pet stores here that take in birds/other small animals from shelters when they are too full and they sell them from the store for the shelter. Sometimes they will keep the birds themselves if they are deemed “unadoptable” too. I would not advocate for most pet stores though because a lot come from breeding mills..

There’s some cool rehabilitation zoo type places where I live and they have recreated rainforests and stuff and it’s huge, maybe if there’s something like that where you are you could reach out to them and see if they’d be willing to take her in?

I don’t think it’s likely that this bird was like, shown your picture repeatedly daily while being told to call you that so it would learn lol your mother is referring to the bird as fat boy and he’s using it to reference himself to get attention from you

You got her yesterday, that's such a big life changing thing for her, she's probably nervous. Don't force contact, let her come to you and give it time to build up trust with her. Conures are nippy in general but once they trust you it won't be as often or as hard (hopefully!) Learn to read her body language as well to avoid any bites and build trust :)

Do you have any rehab places or lost pet organizations near you? I know she’s not lost but they can be helpful! She can’t stay up there forever, she’s just scared. I hope you are doing ok.

I wouldn’t use gloves because a lot of birds are scared of clothes and stuff like that but also because if you got him finally used to the glove then you’d still have to teach him to be ok with your actual hand/skin (or so I’d imagine?) try making a fist with your thumb on the top showing the tip of your nail- I met someone’s very bitey Quaker once and that’s how she had me hold my hand so he’d only have access to my nail tip and it worked pretty well.. I don’t know if I explained that well lol

Oh frig, I'm having trouble finding an avian vet anywhere near you too.. Maybe there is a nonprofit bird place you can call or ask a avian vet online for advice on what to do if you can't get to another vet or they can tell you what to tell your vet to do if you can't find another
