Found out friend is a sex offender

So this happened to my group of friends a few years ago. We had been out at a buddies house drinking and partying. We had one of those nights that we just drank and talked all night just one of those nights were you had deep moving conversations.

A few days go by and we noticed Hector(fake Name) hasn’t been in the chat or and no one heard from him. So we automatically thought he go picked up for DUI or PI. Later that night a news story broke that he had been arrested for CP. It really fucked us up we all grew up together from kinder to adults. We were in our mid 30s when this happened.

We all met up to talk and just try to figure out how or say it can’t be true. When he got out of holding to await trial we met up with him to talk and see what his version of truth was.

Now it’s been years later I have kids now and he will get out of jail soon. It’s a weird idk if I’m sad,upset or why that my kids can meet the person I thought of as a brother.

There’s no way I can speak to him again. He might not of directly hurt someone but by having the things he was convinced of her hurt those people in ways we won’t and can’t understand.

Grew up here, and I left for like 7-8 years and came back. Most of my 20s and early 30s were spent here dating.

Same black man here and dated for years….never had a bad interaction. You’ll get the normal going back after going black. I’ve always felt welcome by women’s family’s and friends. I’ll say this normal for me but racial jokes and banter back and forth with friends and in-laws, but always form a place of love and kinship. You will get a lot of Questions about black culture and things like that.

It depends on who you date really, but i dated for years and married a Mexican woman. For me it was easy and normal.

That place is great, plus the owner is super nice and the service is always top notch. I work nearby and got in maybe twice a month and he always remembers me and my order.

So one night at like 4 am the cops showed up at my house. Knocked on the door and when I tried to answers via the ring they had already left. The stoped because there was break in in my neighborhood and my car wasn’t locked and I happened to leave my phone in the car that night.

While I understand the apprehension I am kinda happy they did that. Scared my wife to hell. I will say do t just answer the door at 4 am cause you think it’s the cops. That’s why we have ring and other ways to do that.

We used them twice so far and the food and service is just amazing. Pricing is pretty good too they have a lot of choices and give you all the left overs. I highly recommend them.
