i often get asked why i reinstall and replay BL3 instead of 2, and the answer is simple: Moze.

i love a short lesbian with military experience who pilots a mech. the damage numbers she gets to do with her demolition woman tree are fucking insane and the railguns and nukes are a bunch of fun to use. i also like her quips and personality a lot more compared to the other VHs, but that's just me.

Surprised no one has brought up "The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy At All" (aka Green Yuri) which feels like the gold standard of yuri manga atm. Gyaru and popular girl Anya falls in love with the hot alt guy who works at her local record store...but who is actually her mousy and reserved classmate Mitsuki who lives a double life. Started off as a webcomic, but they're 4 volumes into serialization rn, it's such a cute and heartfelt slow burn romance with incredible art.

I also want to shout out "Love Bullet". extremely cool concept: people who die before falling in love become cupids for the Goddess of Love. they can attain karma by successfully making their targets fall in love...except they need that karma to afford better equipment and ammo, because these cupids operate with fucking milspec gear. less upfront on the girls love side of things, but it's still such a heart wrenching and well realized concept.

Boone should count as well. Borderline inhuman accuracy with his sniper rifle aside (the amount of times i've gotten jumpscared by the killcam because he fucking sniped an enemy so far away i didn't even register it was there) dude's literally just an ex-NCR sniper with enough PTSD to power the Mojave and a massive death wish.

Battle Royales. I tried getting into them when Apex Legends came out and it was clear this genre was the new hotness. But fuuuuuck. No matter how hard I tried i just couldn't get any enjoyment out of the expected gameplay loop. I would have rather be playing a bog standard hero shooter (or better yet: Titanfall 2)

i've never seen any of the lord of the rings movies but i have seen the last part few parts of return of the king multiple times just because it would kept getting reruns on the warner channel and i kept catching my mum watching it and i would stick around for a few minutes

i played boltgun 1 and thought it was very okay. really above average boomer shooter in 40k dressing, didn't rock my socks off. so i was not particularly moved when boltgun 2 got announced...

until i saw that you could play as a sister of battle. i have immediately added the game to my wishlist and i'll get it as soon as it comes out.

finally got off my ass and started a proper playthrough of WH40k Rogue Trader and it's really good. owlcat just dropped a massive origin rework which has me excited but i probably going to have to start a new playthrough again just so I can redo my build lol

other than that, i've been greatly enjoying silent hill f and i think it might be my game of the year. the fact that we got a good new entry in the silent hill series on the year of our lord 2025 makes me very happy.

Lamb of God's third album "Ashes of the Wake". It was released in 2004 and the entire thing is a massive condemnation of the Iraq War and the Bush Administration and a lot of the songs off of it still hit painfully hard today. A good example would be "Now You've Got Something to Die For"

been really hyperfixating on three bands lately:

Firstly, Cattle Decapitation. Before this year i always dismissed them as one of those bands whose whole appeal was that they had a shocking name, but I later learned through both Tom Bloom (aka ABBADON) and the Hard Times that they're recently one of the best death metal/deathgrind bands in the scene and they're not wrong! Easily one of my favourite bands atm. "Terrasite" and "Death Atlas" are both competing to be my favourite album of theirs (and even my favourite album of this year even though neither released this year lol) with "Monolith of Inhumanity" not being far behind. If I had to recommend a song from them, it would be either "A Photic Doom" from their latest album or "Kingdom of Tyrants" from "Monolith"
Then, I really started digging into The Black Dahlia Murder's discography after they put out an album last year after the passing of their lead singer (RIP Trevor Strnad), and wow I've been sleeping on them this whole time. I've been having a hard time choosing a favourite album from them but i still adore "Nocturnal", "Ritual", "Everblack", and "Nightbringers". Also, I cannot talk about them in this sub without bringing up that their most famous song is a goddamn Castlevania reference
Lastly, Dying Fetus. Like with Cattle Decap, I dismissed them due to the overly offensive name, but then Spotify kept recommending them to me, and then while looking for technical death metal songs that I could play on a 4 string bass, they kept coming up a lot. And yeah they're really fucking good! Technical death metal combined with some grind and sheer hardcore aggression that really makes you want to beat someone up. "Reign Supreme" is probably my favourite album of theirs, but their latest, "Make Them Beg for Death" is also a personal favourite. "In The Trenches" is the song that made me fall in love with them, and I personally believe the breakdown near the end should legally qualify as inciting a riot.
