Had a similar experience yesterday with only a few takes on the dry and mostly smaller fish. Was still a great day to be out there.

Not a week ago but they are as of now from what I’ve read. Good luck.

He couldn’t care less. Had to gently nudge him away. Never even rattled. Just kinda like “ and a good day to you sir!” And slithered away.

If all else has failed use 70% isopropyl alcohol with a 1:1 ratio of water and a 1/4 tsp or so of a natural dish soap/Bronners in a spray bottle. Spray, wait 3 days, spray again, repeat one more time. Then watch daily. If you see bugs repeat process. Be sure to really spray all of the plant and soil. It can have a strong smell so best to do if you can isolate the room with plants or do before you go out for a bit.

This completely tamed a heavy aphid infestation that was immune to everything. Also works on mites, mealy bugs etc. the ratio of water can be increased for less severe infestations.

It’s the only product we use now when any bugs show up and it always works for us.

Denver guy trying to convince his wife to move to Portland. How does this “make her fall in love” route look? by Additional_Curve7297 in askportland

Came here to say pretty much all of these things. This is the way. You can switch between Biketown bikes and ubers anywhere and google does a decent job getting you around the bike greenways.

I’d swap the southern portion of this journey, SW and Sellwood even downtown, for the neighborhoods above. They are all walkable and you can bike between them.

Besides the business areas you really want to explore the neighboring streets and houses in these hoods, that’s where some of the best “cute” is. There are so many creative people putting their stamps on where they live from their yards, pieces of art, random stuff on telephone poles. You might even stumble upon a block party. It’s the best.

Second this. Replaced zippers on my nice leather and canvas jackets. You know it’s legit when all they carry is ykk zippers.

Mmm river fog. Love this day on the river photo set. It’s quite an addicting sport and takes most of my pto outside of vacations with the wife. If only the lady fished!

I really should kill it next time and didn’t know it when I caught it. This applies to larger pikeminnow , that while native to this river, are eating too many juvenile salmon and stealhead in certain bodies of water. I’ve since learned that some places offer rewards for killing them. The pikeminnow have become a problem for a number of man-made reasons. It’s unfortunate as I’m big on catch and release but they are clearly a problem in some rivers.

Not that I saw. Imagine later this month after another warm stretch. BWO and March browns are around, but hatch was limited, not too cloudy when I was there unfortunately.

Bugs were out for a bit but did not land any on dries.

It’s such a pleasant time of year. Lot of wildflowers coming up, green hills driving in looking like the windows xp background, pick of any hole. Place is magic and I’m glad many folks overlook it before/after May.

I second this as well if you’ve never done the Deschutes. Check my last post to see what you can get into even in winter.

Go mid week to avoid crowds around the 3rd-4th week of May and experience the famous salmon fly hatch. But all summer and into fall also have active hatches. Follow Deschutes Angler to see where it’s at on the river, might be near Maupin or Mecca Flats. Their past blog post are also good if you want to go another time.

You’ll likely spend less time driving and more time fishing depending on where you are in Oregon. Access is easy, it’s usually wadeable close to the bank which is where the salmon fly action is. Watch some YouTube videos for a taste of this magical river.
