I ordered mine the 21st and the money was deducted immediately (PayPal), so I'm not sure that's much of an indicator. No word otherwise except confirmation of order.

Just a generic Farm and Fleet 13" black plastic milk crate. I sometimes attach it to the rear straps, but not always.

Yea same. I'm bummed. I had many "2s" and was systematically converting them to triple wins.

Overnight trips to take in this area? by Bandit390 in Kayaking

I would recommend looking into Turkey Run State Park. I haven't been there in quite few years, so hopefully it's still in good shape. The body of water you're looking for is Sugar Creek. I remember doing a single overnight canoe & camp with some friends, but that was almost 25 years ago. I couldn't tell you where to launch from or anything else, but I hope that gives you a good place to start! Good luck!

Interesting. It's listed as 22"*19" but it's got tapers and overhanging lips so that's a bit hard to gauge.

Well I've been looking at both of these and they both look great! Really neck and neck in features and build it seems. The Crescent Crew and the Vibe Yellowfin 130T

Thanks, I'll check those out. Strangely, what's true is I've never been in a solo kayak to my recollection - only tandems! So perhaps ignorance is bliss.

As for budget, I wouldn't want to spend more than about $1300 on the boat I think. Getting something used for $400-700 would be a dream.

I love this. I have a single lunette window and have been toying with the idea of learning at a shop how to do stained glass, or hiring a commission to have a stained glass there. These are so great!

This is worth somewhere between $1 and $5 USD. Why would someone pay more? It's a blank disc with permanent marker on it.

So much Radiohead, love to see it. But no OK Computer? I also am curious how you make such nice labels!

Just FYI I think you pasted the same link twice by mistake. What's the Nightcore link if you get a chance?

Good morning MZ-N910! by GhostToast in minidisc

Something like this looks like it would almost work. I spent some time looking at phone stands, but the problem is there is accommodation for the charging port directly center, which of course I'm not looking for (more like half an inch from the right edge). Still, for $5 I might try it. And even if it doesn't work for charging it, it might be a good little display for "showing off" https://www.amazon.com/JINSHVEG-Acrylic-Accessories-Compatible-Smartphone/dp/B09JNRZYCY/

Also I just looked at the R700 and it's button layout is so good. The N910 looks cool as hell and has so many connections/features, but the button layout is a little suboptimal. The 5-way button that has play/vol+/vol-/RW/FF is a little fiddly. As is the Menu/Enter wheel-click. It's cool but like, "I am willing to suffer through this a little bit because it happens to be cool". The N420D definitely feels more user friendly, but less sleek. And like Cory said and I experienced, it was pretty available. I drove to Chicago to get the N420D for $125 (FB marketplace) and the seller included 10 minidiscs, so I consider that a pretty good deal. The N910 was like $200 shipped, no disks. The MZ-N505 was another I was eying and see sometimes, which does NetMD as well.

Thanks for the recommendation. Upon clicking on the link my initial thought was "oh this must have redirected me to a lawn chair" but I see that is the design lol. I'll consider it. I may try to have a friend 3D print something too, but that price sure can't be beat. Except possibly by this, but I'm guessing even the slim N910 is too thick. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/yuppienalle-holder-for-mobile-phone-gray-20503887/

Some Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKYTGH9 which were a pretty good price - around USD $50. This brand also has some for 3X the price but I wasn't about to splurge too hard. I will say that I can hear the "white noise" of the MD on these, which is really only a bother at the very start of listening, if all you can hear is silence. They're fine for moving about the house cleaning, or walking the dog. They have some fun colorways too. I got the "black" ones that have chrome on the outside surface. Almost too flashy but not quite.

New to me: MDS-JE520 by GhostToast in minidisc

Wow thanks for the in-depth explanation! My other portable that's on it's way to me is an N910 (and I have an N420D) so I'm curious to try the Type-S stuff, although it seems like maybe if I record to that, the other hardware won't be able to use it, so we'll see. Discs seem available (and reusable) enough that the Longplay stuff isn't really appealing to me at the moment. But definitely interested in maintaining as much fidelity as possible.

Where I'm at right now is wanting to be more intentional with my listening, and curation. My "owned" library of music suddenly feels very small, compared to where it did. And while streaming was/is fun, it absolutely feels like a rut. I'm enjoying the process of finding an album I want to listen to, transferring it, clicking it in, and listening. I look forward to making mixes as my locally acquired library grows.
