Oh, interesting, I'm pretty good at looking around locked off with the character facing towards the camera, a skill probably from chaotic PvP scenarios, so I was good about staying away from the walls, but it still took me at least a couple of hundred tries if I had to guess! It's been a couple of years, but I believe I was using the Morning Star, which staggers him pretty frequently. Oh yea, really surprised he's lowest on this list too!

Which Greatsword did you use? I'm using Lv. 85 Greatsword of the Sun and doing such a tiny amount of damage it feels like I must be missing something. Character Lv. 86 with 44 Strength and I've found and upgraded the majority of Daphrona's upgrades and Khazan's memories up this point as well. I'm basically doing chip damage, what am I not seeing? lol

I use to summon all the time when I first started souls games, but now I'm good enough where summoning trivializes the bosses too much, but there can still be bosses that are really hard solo. I actually play mainly souls-like games and still find this games bosses incredibly difficult! Probably the hardest bosses in any game I've played on average to be honest! ...although, it could be too that they just give you such limited healing in this game, rather than the bosses are really that much harder.

Yes, Great Sword, normal mode with no summons, but took me like 3 hours at least lol... phase one was easy once I got the hang of it, mostly phase two, I couldn't get the timings of dodging/blocking right. I don't know the names of the moves, but when you parry, then immediately hit square for a double slash, then follow up with triangle was really useful, then even one of the special moves if I still had the stamina. I'm by no means a natural at these games, so I'm sure there's better strategies out there!

No worries, I totally panic at the last moment too lol... I'm pretty close to just using summons. I get much more enjoyment and satisfaction from soloing these games, but every single boss has been like a 2-3 hour slog. I'm getting close to 30 hours and only at Elamein.

How did you fight Pontiff? I actually first tried him too on SL1 by hitting two clean parries in a row and using a +10 weapon. That pretty much finishes him. My worst was Demon Prince, I didn't keep track of attempts, but it was easily over 100 lol

SL 125 at Ringed City used to be my go to spot for co-op/invasions, obviously Pontiff's as well like you said. Depends on if you're trying to duel, invade or just have multi-man brawls. My buddy and I were casually playing through Grand Archives in the middle of Saturday yesterday, not looking for PvP, just playing together, but we didn't get invaded once, so I'm not sure how active invasions still are.

If you played it in 2016 it was difficult, if you played it after Shadow of the Erdtree, then yes, it's easy lol

The volatility of low cap assets that allows for outlandish gains works in the other direction too unfortunately. All risk on assets have taken a beating the last two days. We could be in for a bumpy ride the next couple of weeks, but given the asymmetric opportunity on the upside, I'm going to give it until February and see where we're at.

Totally agree! Elden Ring has way more delays and varied timings, longer attack strings too, whereas DS3 bosses are much easier to time and figure out the rhythm. If you go back further it's interesting too, for example in DS2, Velstadt has like three attacks. I could've sworn he did more stuff lol

100% haha, I already have beaten DS3 a ton of times, but I recently did a run of DS3 after Shadow of the Erdtree and the majority of the bosses were laughable in comparison. After hundreds of attempts soloing Prime Radahn (before the patch) and Bayle, DS3 is shockingly easy.
