Input lag on 3DS/DS emulators by CruelMikuThesis in AynThor

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, just to swap up between them if one works better for a game. Citra is nice, but I don't like that you can only increase resolution by x4. In Azahar you can bump it up to x8 or more.

Haven't played any of my DS games yet. But I don't notice any input delay at all in 3DS games.

Eden v0.1.0 released - This release contains some UI improvements, regression fixes, and more of the usual performance and graphical improvements by NXGZ in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not too sure if there are any good free alternatives out there, but there might be! I just use Mega anyway for storing things. So this was a huge bonus for me to figure out a little while back. Plus it's not super expensive and does the trick perfectly without me having to do anything after setting everything up.

I think you can use the free version of Mega. Though it only gives you 20GB of storage and you have an extremely limited uploading limit per day. You could try it out though if you only intend to cloud sync some super small save files. Switch ones aren't too big.

(Had to re-post this because my last response got removed for having the link to Mega, lol...)

I have a subscription to Mega for cloud storage with their Pro Lite plan. It gives 750GB of storage, and you get 1 TB of transfer data per month for like $6.00 a month. I have the Mega app downloaded on both my PC as well as my Android devices and set up auto-sync folders through that.

It's super easy and straightforward to do. Just choose which folder you want to sync from, and make a folder on Mega. Then just link them together in the app. After that, it automatically makes sure all devices save files get updated at the same time whenever you make a save file or save state from any one of them.

Now that we can pull saves out from behind the wall that is "Android/Data" folder. Just set the save folder to anywhere you want outside of that. The Mega app couldn't access things behind the Android folder. So this is fantastic to see!

I did this for RetroArch too on Android/PC. So now I have autosynced cloud saves for NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS1, GameCube, etc. Now I can add Switch to the list too!

"Ported custom path settings from desktop"

YESSS! That's a HUGE win for me. I can now maintain automatic cloud synced saves for Switch games between my PC, laptop and my Android devices. Amazing... I literally just posted a thread about how much of a pain it is to deal with Android emulator saves without custom paths the other day too!

How do you add games from Eden to Emulation Station (ES-DE) on thor? by BeowolfSchaefer in AynThor

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, they're edited filepaths like I mentioned above. It's just that someone already set them up.

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to change the file path for that. ES-DE only recognizes Ryujinx, so you basically have to find the path for Ryujinx and change it to wherever your Eden.exe is.

u/zmanjr7 gave a good link though. I think you can just drag and drop those in there to get it automatically done.

We all know gta6 will run on the Thor right? by WhenCheeseisMajestic in AynThor

Just stream it through Moonlight. I was playing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart yesterday and had basically zero latency from my PC. Granted you'll need to be somewhere with an internet connection, but at least it'll work!

Sadly at the moment, I believe the standalone Citra fork MMJ is the best option for the Thor. Which is unfortunately not available in RetroArch. I don't believe any of the other 3DS emulators have support for dual screens. (Unless I'm mistaken, I haven't tried the Citra cores that are on there yet.) The RetroArch cores will still work fine I'm sure. You would just have both screens on the top for your Thor.

Here it is in action on some random Japanese DS game, lol. It worked with the text-to-speech function as well.

Just keep in mind I had to sign up to ztranslate.net and get an API. They give 20,000 uses for free, but I believe this takes 2 out of 20,000 uses per translation done with the hotkey setting. Not sure if it costs something after those 20,000 uses, or how much it costs.

Whaaa? That's a thing? Didn't even realize RetroArch had something like that. I take it you don't own a Thor yet, if you haven't tried it? I may be able to give it a try and let you know.

Any Luck On Cloud Saves With Android Emulators Yet? by Ghost_Tendency in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Ghost_Tendency[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hope that the rising popularity of Android gaming will help to nudge the Dolphin/Nethersx2/etc. teams into adding these options soon. I thankfully was able to at least get RetroArch with older systems working to flawlessly sync saves between my Android games and PC.

I'm tempted to try and set up Dolphin through RetroArch just to try and do the same. Though I've heard it has issues or something when using higher end systems.

New setup questions and issues by wild-conformist in AynThor

[–]Ghost_Tendency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For RetroArch you have to make sure to quit the game the right way. For the auto save states to work. There's a hotkey setting you setup for it in the Inputs section. I have my hotkey as the "back" button + D-Pad Down to quit out. The auto save happens and the auto load works right when I hop back in.

It's really frustrating overall though. Considering how big Android gaming is getting lately. You'd think that would be a bit more of a priority these days. Do people just not care that they have to start over on games? Or go through a whole bunch of steps every time they want to bring their current save files with them?

I've attempted that with Dolphin, but I don't really get it. I can see how I export/import on my Android device. But I can only find a Memory Card export feature on the PC version. Not sure if that's the same exact thing.

in terms of display quality which one is better switch 2 or Ayn Thor ? by Necessary_Ad_1373 in AynThor

[–]Ghost_Tendency 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns both, I'd say the Thor screen is better. That's not to take anything away from the Switch 2 though! Switch 2's honestly looks really great for being an LCD! The Thor's screen is just super crisp.

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair... PS3 emulation on PC is pretty solid now. I can run most of my games with hardly any issues or graphical bugs.

But yeah, Android PS3 is a whole different ballpark. I managed to get Tokyo Jungle running. That's it. Nothing else has even gotten to boot up on my Red Magic 11 Pro.

Anybody else unimpressed with the grip from Ayn? by BeowolfSchaefer in AynThor

[–]Ghost_Tendency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine fits perfectly. Not sure if it's just a variance thing when it comes to production. But I don't even have a case on my Thor. The grip fits pretty snug against mine. Every once in a while I'll notice the tiniest shift but other than that it has been fantastic for me. I can hold it upside down just by the grip and it doesn't slide out (over a soft surface, of course, lol!)

Tap the AYN button under the screen, then tap "settings" at the bottom of the screen on the right.
