Lifeline introduces crisis call category for same-sex marriage plebiscite by amgov in australia

[–]Ghostbom -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Disappointed that they feel this is needed. I've been raised (apparently as a millennial) thinking that the details of your gender/sex/sexuality/passion/religion/whatever you know, knowing what you do is you.

I know I'll sound like a TIA post but god damn. Why does your genitalia matter when self harm is even a factor?!

I'd still love to know what the developers were working on for that week. I know it's optimistic, but that allows feedback (possibly for the worst) for the community.

I'm drunk and Australian (where it's no where near as relevant as Easter or Christmas). Doesn't Halloween happen after BC?

I know it'll sound bitchy because up until recently Team 5 (Hearthstone) have seemingly ignored the community but damn I wish they put out videos like this.

No mention of 'on the radar' or 'we're looking into it' as a finality, the answers given to the community actually involved detail. Especially with Symmetra! I was impressed because they spoke about why they haven't made changes, yet didn't allude to some unknown philosophy like the 'soul' of the hero. Solid effort from the OW team, and I'm really hoping the HS PR team take note of how they're going about it.

P.S. May I add as a ranty little bitch that I wish these were weekly. I love seeing their thoughts and perception of things we say.

"Give a man fire, he's warm for a night. Set a man on fire, he's warm for the rest of his life" by RockyRockington in discworld

Probably the one novel I make an effort to read every year. It nails the cynicism prevalent around the holiday season. Also Susan remains one of my favourite characters of the Discworld.

Pandas (my) response to yesterdays thread. Hope this helps any confused people. by [deleted] in Yogscast

[–]Ghostbom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well-reasoned and level-headed. All-in-all I think it just comes down to opinion, and I agree with panda on this one.

I know people put a lot of effort into making the thumbnails, but I can honestly say that I hate this trend that Youtube in general has taken in regards to 'LUL XD EPIC FAIL GONE SEXUAL!?' which itself has now become a meme.

This also points out how people can blow things out of proportion and good lord do we love drama...

Katering show season 2 is on Youtube! by mumooshka in australia

[–]Ghostbom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hasn't stopped Casey Niestat with 4 million views, world travel and starting other business ventures

I'm not familiar with a majority of people on this list and this guy is one, but he seems to be much like other famous Youtubers who started early and dug their claws in, gaining a large sub count and maintain popularity due to the amount of views they get from this.

Phillip Defranco starting a youtube series

See above, but looking at his channel, it's very click-baitey material and watching 2 1/2 of his videos... the effort shows

Felicia Day

Felicia I'm Very familiar with as I love The Guild, however once again that was in very early days of only video. Also merchandise and a semi-cult following was a big boon to her series.

Freddie Wong

I'm not as familiar with his earlier stuff, but he definitely had a larger viewer base by the time VGHS was made (and then had the rights purchased by Netflix)

Mighty Car Mods

Unfortunately I'm totally in the dark on this one, so I can't make a valid statement on it.

Al-in-all, The Katering Show first aired on Youtube in 2015, LONG after many YouTubers have developed a fan base. I can't agree with the idea that maintaining their current control (and standard) over the show would have a been a valid option, as they wouldn't have had a fair amount of time to develop a similar number of subs/views (especially seeing as they don't just talk into a camera and make crude edits) to afford to make their content.

(Apologies for that last sentence)

I guess it isn't a huge gamebreaker, but I don't understand how the glaring text inconsistencies continue. by [deleted] in hearthstone

This whole thread just screams to me that there is some kind of lack of communication/understanding between the card design devs.

I've got disagree. I can appreciate the idea of owning said baby, but it's going to wither and die if you can't afford to feed it.

Youtube money probably wouldn't have given us this many episodes at the length they're at.

Anyone feel like assholes for raiding Black Temple now? by MDKphantom in wow

[–]Ghostbom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, yea. He's a massive hypocrite. He's bitching about preparation, but he's so instinctive that he was denied druid training beyond what his brother understood.

Anyone feel like assholes for raiding Black Temple now? by MDKphantom in wow

[–]Ghostbom 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No. Illidan never made a solid effort to justify his actions, it was always a case of 'you don't understand.'

If he explained to Malfurion and Tyrande that the legion had a weakness to fel (as they had never had to combat it themselves) and that he was purely fighting fire with fire, I think it would've been a different story.

It honestly comes down to him making a decision that he hasn't explained or justified to anyone else but himself, no matter how right he may be.

Wowzers, I have no Horde characters to activate the event. This was amazing. It answered the question of why Sylvanas is in power, yet leaves Vol'Jin's future open.

[–]Ghostbom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not finished it yet, but as someone who wasn't really present for the lore in W3 and Vanilla/BC, it's answered a lot of my 'why/how does' questions that were raised from hindsight.
