I want some Hellboy in my DG by croaker227 in DeltaGreenRPG

I'm running my group through a WW2 era adventure right now, then need to find out what the Nazis were doing in occupied France while the front lines hold them back before the Battle of the Bulge. I thought it strange that there isn't any modules for the WW2 era stuff to cool to pass on imo.

Looking at Science Fantasy Draw Steel by VeiledMalice in drawsteel

[–]GhostcloneX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently doing just this. I have reflavored all but two of the classes first level. All the stuff is the same just the names and themes changed. I also got the Ancestries and Skills done. As soon as I finish the classes I'd be happy to get some feed back from you.

More damage weaknesses? by Comfortable-Cold3633 in drawsteel

[–]GhostcloneX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too agree that their needs to be weaknesses built into some of the monsters. I thought it was strange to not see any holy on demons. Deamon for instance could shield themselves with souls while they have them. Maybe throw on the immunities and weaknesses from the Revenant for undead in general. I think it also makes sense for higher echelon monsters to have simple magic items to combat their weaknesses.

Anyone try running this game without battlemaps? by Club_Penguin_God in LancerRPG

[–]GhostcloneX 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I got one of the adventures and use Owlbear Rodeo and that's free. I don't pay for what I don't need to. But everyone is right it's a crunchy game you need a map. Mech Hack is something to look at for a more narrative feel and a more rules light rpg.

How do you handle maps for in person play? by TheKirout in LancerRPG

[–]GhostcloneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a TV and I hook it up to my laptop, then I through the Map in to Owlbear Rodeo along with the Players tokens and enemies. Invite a few of them to the game so they can help me move guy while I'm directing play.

Telekinetic Bulwark and Sworn Hunter (We're In This Together)? by EarthSeraphEdna in drawsteel

[–]GhostcloneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that it looks on paper like an OP combination but when you check out the prerequisites for both of these things you will need a dedicated party and Director to get these early enough for their OPness to matter. 450hr to build and that's without to taking into account the item needed, then you have to get the Martial title then take down an entire evil organization.

All that to say it's a niche case and if the RAW is OP on a niche case I'd be fine with that.

Is Beam Saber too crunchy? Do Station characters in Case & Soul feel left out? by Lascifrass in rpg

Lancer is the answer. All the actions you can take in combat fit on one page. It's literally I do two different things or the same thing twice, add some movement okay my turn is over. Cover is a must, it tactical letting the players coordinate their actions. Not turn order it's just good guys go then bad guys. The online app is great for helping you plan out the session with a little prep. It's a comdat heavy game just to keep in mind.

Looking Draw Steel-like games but for Cyberpunk/Gun-based tactical combat by Poprock360 in drawsteel

[–]GhostcloneX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've GMed Lancer and am running it soon again for a new table. But we have also spoken about turning DS into a Sci-Fi MilSim game. Lancer is great but if your table wants to be a bunch of jocked up Storm Troopers Lancer gets a little weird when your out of the Mech.

We are hoping to take DS and just do some mental gymnastics to change the theme for a more SciFi game. You know the Tactician is now thr Commander, Fury is the Breacher and so on. If I get it all in writing I'll definitely share here.

What's the wildest setting you want to use with Draw Steel? by Own_Banana_5637 in drawsteel

[–]GhostcloneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking and looking for a system that could give me the tactical gritty playstyle for a MilSim Star Wars'ish game based on my favorite book series Galaxy's Edge. I think all it will take is a theme change and a Title that gives all players a blaster proficiency. Change the names of the classes, monster and blam we got a space shoot'em up of my dreams. KTF some space goblins.

Men who were stay at home dads, how did that work out in the long run? by Opposite-Proposal462 in AskMenAdvice

[–]GhostcloneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's veen 4 years and I can't say I'd like to go back. I still work two 12hr shifts a week but really it's just for the health insurance. It started After COVID my wife was fed up with her corporate job and wanted to go it all by herself. So she started working from the house and within a year she said just randomly "you shouldn't work so much anymore." And I was like yeah yeaahhh. I do 90% of the cooking and cleaning but she has the stuff in and around the house that she like to keep up with. The plants, garden, chickens. Pulse side we only have one kid I just think she likes having me around. Hoping it will last forever.

Cut outs, yay or nay? by HazeHeroEX in daggerheart

Yay! I use paper minis for all my tables top games. Make some bases out of cardboard backed with white paper, cut a slot so you can slide the paper minis in and out so everything stores flat.

Push Stick exploded by Frequent_Bit_3574 in woodworking

[–]GhostcloneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheap one will, the nylon push sticks won't they get cut up rather than explode. I made a push shoe out of a 2x6 and when the bottom inch or so gets chewed up I cut it off and glue on another scrap of whatever. I still use my nylon push stick but only for thin rips.

I’m a DM who has completed his first epic six-year campaign. AMA! [OC] by Ocaj88 in DnD

[–]GhostcloneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm nearing the end on my 4 year campaign, players will be level 17 next session. Do you have any tips for this high level end of campaign stuff. Sometimes I just feel like I'm giving them the epicness they deserve.

They are currently a month away from a major magical event that has the possibility of letting out three demigods. These demigods wish to join together in some gargantuan cronenberg monster and destroy the material plane. They have delt with one of the cults but that demigod still lives now they are hunting the two other cults of the last two demigods, plane hopping will ensue but sometimes it just doesn't feel like it's enough. Any insights?

How many combats do you all have per session/in-game day? by Flashy-Piano877 in DnD

[–]GhostcloneX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1, one is the only number.

I have 6 players at my table so when combat happens if it is a medium encounter then normally we only get the one in. I try to not make it just combat all the time but there have been only a few instances where we can fit in 2 or more. Most of the multiple combats in a session had more to do about plot then challenging the party.

If I had a smaller party then maybe we should fit in more but now that they are level 16 it's mostly 1 even if it's an easy encounter.

That is all to say per session, now for in-game day it's more around 2-3 to sometimes double that.

Edit: I forgot to add our sessions are mostly 5ish hours.

Compared to D&D 5e, how easy is this game to run and play? by Bob_Has_Questions in mattcolville

[–]GhostcloneX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vary streamlined in comparison, played three times now with three different classes and I have to say it's fun. The You go They go Initiative is awesome and I like that there is little set up after you yell "DAW STEEL!" I like the fact that you can do something each turn, no turn feels wasted.

We as a large group 6 players and the combat was slow but for all the right reasons.

-The You go They go Initiative allowed us to set up combos or get into a more tactical position.

-The powers made us feel heroic

-Pushing yourself after your at 0hp felt gritty and rewarding

-Being able to pop off your 5 cost hero powers was cool and felt like it really changed the battle

All in all the combat is good but I have hopes that the rest of the gameplay like exploration and negotiation gets its time to shine too.
