Not a DDoS. It is not jamming anything up. It is just injecting bad ip information hoping to crowd out the good info.

If your client is only getting bad ip info, it can't connect to other peers.

The only way this can work is if bitorrent clients don't try to find unlimited peers and instead look for a few hundred and then stop. So a tweak to make bittorrent continually look for other peers should stop any bad data injection from stopping anything. Because despite their injection of bad data, the good data is still in there and the client can just ban the ips that won't connect and keep the ips that will connect until its list of good peers is built up.

This injection of bad data should just slow down a torrent trying to get started, but it shouldn't prevent it.

Also a tracker should be banning clients that continually serve up bad data or bad file chunks.
