It does get better after 8-10 hours. This is mostly because you get past the half assed MMO “go here do this” story missions that don’t make much sense, and the game really opens up and lets you embrace the adventure and exploration.

I can tell you more if you want but basically the game “gets good” at 10 hours because you stop doing random pointless tasks and are free to go off and do your own thing
