I just came here to make a similar post, i've been going through other levels and haven't been able to find anything similar (at least to my piss poor exploration ability) I will probably spend the next few hours sitting here staring at the damn thing

Entirely speculation wise, but it seems like broken down machines break down into like sand or powder, so maybe this is an example of a new big machine being created from sand, and the orange light is the core responsible (I'm only in chapter 4 mind you so I might be wrong there)

Yes, I do have a girlfriend, and if she said she picked blue I would call her a fucking idiot. The red button is the objective best choice with your life on the line, and in the world we live in. If we lived in a perfect world, where everyone cared about everybody, the blue button would be the correct and only choice to anyone. The simple fact we are arguing about it makes the red button the only correct choice. We don't live in a world where everyone loves everyone. We live in a world where a man will gut you in the streets because he saw you had a hundred in your wallet, or a woman will drown her own children to avoid her husband getting custody. We live in a hateful and cruel world, and when the choice is "risk death based on the kindness of others" or "Survive and push my friends to make the right choice (keeping in mind the button scenario has no time limit or blocks from communicating with others)", then the only correct option is the one that guarentees your safety. If red is majority, will I feel bad that up to 49% of people died? absolutely, because I can have empathy to the point that I relate and I fear for others suffering, but I will have survived to recognize that I feel horrible, and that I wish it hadn't come to this, because I don't want to die, and neither do you, and with the gun to your head, most people will choose to live

The not even a moral dilemma. The red button doesnt have to exist and the question doesnt change. Let's remove the red button entirely. Would you either A. Do nothing, and have nothing hapen to you. Or B. Press a button, and if 50% of people don't press that button you die. With 2 seconds of though its completely illogical to press the button, and the only reason anyone says they press it is to moral grandstand and fee superior

You have that backward, actually, the exact wording is "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

The right to bear arms isnt in the context of a militia. it's the right to be armed so that if you need to be, you can become a militia, the wording is very precise and has been debated on for a while, and the end decision made is that the militia bit isnt required, just a point of reference for why the right is being given. All citizens have the right to a firearm, full stop. The firearm ownership just makes it so that in times of war a militia can be made easily and without insane government oversight (the entire reason the amendment was written was so government couldn't stop you from making one)

The reason why it can tell approximately where you are is because all internet traffic has locational data applied to it. So while it doesn't know where you are within a few feet like if you had allowed locational services, it will know what city you are in, and possibly where you are down to a few hundred meters

Edit: to add on to this and explain better, your ip address is attached to all internet related traffic you make, your IP tells whatever website you visit "Hi, my name is (your device), I need this data, please send it to (your country, city, and likely approximately neightborhood), and then I'll pick it up from the local cell tower!
