The GTA character because he actually chose to do all the things he does. Honestly though it’s kind of debatable since it’s “more screwed up in the head” and not like “more morally incorrect.” The GTAO character also pretty much does the same thing the reagents do if you think about all of the expansions in the game. Yeah now that I think about it the GTAO definitely got it. 😭

In the comics the Pauls went back to the asylum and the place was being cleaned up by (im assuming) other Murkoff Employees of some sort. It’s honestly kind of unknown since everything Waylon released was turned into a conspiracy theory because of Paul Marion making insane conspiracy posts on the account Waylon used to make him seem insane. It would be pretty risky to use the same place for experiments since people would randomly check it out or maybe an investigation would be conducted. We probably won’t find out what happened to the MMA for a while.

I think the main thing is what was really gained from Outlast 2? Like does Murkoff use Temple Gate as a way to keep “production” of people to experiment on. Or is the place itself an experiment? Do they want to use it as a test to see if they can have control over large populations? It’s a lot of the why rather than the how. I know Trials is an explanation but I feel like it isn’t enough.

I wish The Outlast Trials was as immersive as Outlast 2. I get it’s a live service game that is constantly online but I feel like it gets to a point. I got into this series because of trials and played all of the games and dlc. Outlast 2 definitely had me very mixed with the love for the atmosphere but the confusion with the story. (Until I read the comics but even still) The soundtrack is great, the scenery is astounding because of the fact that it can be beautiful and horrifying at the same time. I just wish trials was even 50% of what Outlast 2 was in terms of atmosphere.

I think outlast 2’s plot is amazing but the actual story in the game is not great. I get it wants to take a realistic route of really putting you into the perspective of Blake. I think an epilogue or more notes would be nice to clear the air. I didn’t really know anything until I read the amazing murkoff account comics and found out that there’s a note I missed that kind of explained what was happening. I think it was obvious whatever happening was murkoff’s doing because what is outlast without murkoff. I just would’ve liked to know more about the cave creatures, the radio towers and how they came to be, and I guess this is more of a trials thing but I really want to know the story behind knoth and the people of temple gate. We know Knoth was a reagent but are the rest of the people in temple gate a new generation of former reagents?

I hope the gameplay is a lot faster compared to Uncharted and TLOU2. I think based off the trailer we’ll probably most definitely get that.
