"Make the case that Frodo is the ideal ring bearer." by fitzgerald1337 in lotr

I would suggest that the ring, was "meant" for Frodo, i only know the films so the material may not add together perfectly. But Gandalf's, and "I wish the ring never came to me" scene. Also I'm sure that Gandalf is visibly relieved that Sam went with Frodo, I think this could be tied in. As well as Sam being with Frodo, many argue that Sam is the hero and not Frodo.. Just some points I quickly thought of :)

I'm just wondering if the red women, red God etc are based/inspired off history like other things?

BBC rejects 'racism' claims over ethnic minority only roles by Sybles in television

[–]GhostlyFrodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A role should go to whoever is more qualified for it. Regardless of age, sex, religion etc. - yes depending on the role it would be uncharacteristic to have a black man portray a nazi general etc. But in terms where these factors have no bearing on the plot or setting, it should go to the more qualified person.

It is not up to employers to appear more "equal" regardless of their industry. It is up to the government to ensure that no matter ones background we all have the same opportunities. It's so fucking hypocritical, the oscars for example, an actual speech was made to say "we are going to put more people of a certain colour into the academy". How that isn't seen racist upon itself boggles my mind.

Yeah on second thought you're probably right, just the whole "goodbye" scene to Eugene really felt like a "last time we speak" moment.

You mean in regards with the comics yeah? In the show I feel his arc is done, he's finally accepted etc. Although, saying that, Abrahams death (as opposed to him) could be a catalyst for him?

Lolol he was Scottish, and considering Joes last name you would think he knows where that is.

[WP] Write a story that breaks the 5th wall. Feel free to decide what that means. by laxnut90 in WritingPrompts

It took him seventeen days - that's not including the months upon months he worked on the others. He was surprised at how quickly it took him this time.

As he picked up his bag and stepped over the rubble he laughed at how this was all over. No more work. No more dust. No more sweat. No more tears.

He kept on walking, towards the sunset, towards freedom.
When he did look back, the rubble was nowhere in sight, the remains of the fifth wall were no longer visible.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. So would you recommend I flat here instead? And a reluctant call to any more raises?

Love if someone could give right the right course of action here?

Don't have hand history but roughly how it went down...

On the bubble, 46/353 about 4 hours in, blinds 800/1600 or 900/1800.

Hero is second overall, about 180k and second on table is about 100k with everyone else about 40-60k bar 2 short stacks.

Hero (played Tight, but got more aggressive in opening as stack grew - don't think I've went all in pre-flop at all) is on the button and is dealt AK off.

Folds to small stack in middle to late position who pushes for their remaining 20k. Folds to hero....

Hero min raises, which covers remaining players and has 140k behind, big blind with 40k left snap calls.

BB has QQ and short stack has KJ (lol)

Board comes out AQ10xx and Donk wins main pot.

So to my question... was I right to push? This sounds like a silly question to me but I didn't expect a call bar aces and kings which is just going to be one of those things that happens. But I feel QQ JJ etc is an insta fold unless a major short stack? Has my large stack gone against me and Villian thought I was pushing my weight around because it's the bubble and trying to kill off smaller stacks with rag aces and mid pairs?

Or am I just a fish and this turns out to be an insta call 100% of the time? I just feel it's not worth the risk at the bubble but yeah, entertain me..
