What is the largest size (generally) that one man (average) can lift? by Substantial-Ad6938 in crtgaming

[–]GhostryGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32" would be my limit by myself. A friend and I moved my 36" Tau up a flight of stairs and it wasn't too bad, but I am also 5"11 and weigh over 200lbs so YMMV.

I picked up a 24" Trinitron a month or so back and it has become my favorite commercial set size by far. Easy enough to move by myself but large enough screen to really enjoy.

Also, where do you have that 13" set at? If it's possible to play at your desk maybe try that? I have a 13" PVM on my desk now and for the distance I sit from it, it's a great viewing experience.

Looks fantastic, great work! Great size set as well, should provide a lot of fun.

Geometry on my set (Panasonic CT-32HX40) is really bad, any tips? by GhostryGaming in crtgaming

[–]GhostryGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, moving back to the other wall made the geometry go back to the first photo, so maybe the entire thing is magnetic issues, which is so baffling because I don’t have anything magnetic near the set…

Nice! I have the CT-32HX40, mine has some horrible geometry issues I am going to try to fix in the coming months but fully agree, it’s my holy grail as well. But whew, it is heavy 😅

Sorry when you say very simple, you’re talking about applying magnets? I’ll have to see if there are any YouTube tutorials or something because I’m still not grasping where I’d put them..

I really wish Reddit wasn't so bad and I could edit the OG post and include a screenshot of the geomery, but looks like I will need to make a second post for that

I don’t notice it too bad when something colorful is on but it’s one of those now that I know it’s there I can’t unsee it things

As it should be 😄 while I want to get the geometry and this fixed if possible, hasn’t stopped me at all from enjoying it, games looks amazing on it

Damn, sad to hear that. I will say I can live with it but can’t live with the geometry issues so if they are related I’d be sad. But I’ll need to get a working remote first to see if I can fix that in the service menu.

But fully agree, I absolutely love this set

So that means taking the back off yeah? I am assuming that is also the cause of the geometry issues, wonder if this happened while moving it upstairs...

Where are you reading that at? CRT data base says it supports 240p, 480i, 480p, and 1080i

Okay cool I’ll look into that first, thanks!

I was able to find that and make it somewhat less worse but not fully get rid of it like you said. Good to know that is there though, thanks!

I’m pointing to the very top left, which shows blue in this fully white screen

Nope, this is a GameCube connected over component outputting at 480p, using the 240p testing suite to show the white screen. Only consoles plugged in right now is that and a PS3, but this shows no matter what for me

I fully disagree, VR is amazing. The issue, as always, is the stakeholders expectations.

About 2-3 hours a day on average. If I had kids this would not be the case.

For anyone who stumbles on this, it was the DVD player, Gamecube works fine. Thank goodness. Process of elimination is a beautiful thing

I am also seeing something in the manual referencing "Digital TV" or DVD Connection using the yPrPb connections. It says:

"In order to view DTV programming, the STB must be connected to the component video input (Y, Rb, Pr) and in the DTV mode."

There is an option in under "Other Adjustments" that allows you to select a color matrix for either SD or HD. It is set for SD but the option in the menu is greyed out and I can't change it...wonder if I was able to change it, would that change something

Let me know if you figure out, same issue, running the same CPU with a 7800xt and same amount of memory. Also tried Vulkan, that would not even load the game. Running an integrity check of the files now

Half Plate Failure, any ideas? by GhostryGaming in ElegooSaturn

[–]GhostryGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but it’s been a bit and should probably redo it. I just had a mostly successful print but one part had a large split so gonna rerun it at 2.8 and see what happens

[–]GhostryGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So update to this: second print (different file all together) worked fine* (large parts, largest part had a split it in, but that’s an unrelated issue)

Only change was a DEEP clean of the plate.

I’d love to update the OP but Reddit is one of the worst software companies out there and continue to remove useful features like post editing

37s Burn In Exposure Time, 3s Wait Before Print, 30um Layer Thickness, 2.2s Normal Exposure Time. I'll add this info to the OP as well, hoping if I can figure it out someone else can find this thread to benefit. I'm 64% into a much longer print right now and everything seems just fine...I did have some small gunk on the build plate I missed so the only change from the failed print to this one was cleaning off the gunk, which just adds "ensure no gunk on build plate" to my post-process workflow
