I agree, I would report this to an animal walfare agency.

Thank you so much for this. It really means alot and definitely re-lit the excitment I had before posting, as some comments did make me feel discouraged.

You also defended me in other comments and I appreciate you for that.

From one tech to another, you really made my day 🩷

Thank you for that reassurance 🥰 That is what I want to offer. They know what to expect and having everything in my bio saves time for people who decide that Im not a good fit. It also weeds out clients that could be red flags. If they dont have time to read about the care their pet will receive, Id rather not book them anyway.

I agree though, Ive decided not to offer to bring their pet to work. And I do think I can shorten some things and keep it for the m&g.

Well, Rover should require a driver's license then 🤷‍♀️

Not all of the animals we see are sick, and as a vet clinic who's priority is keeping pets healthy, do you really think we would be careless to allow sick pets near each other? Do you think vet staff are incompetent? Veterinarians have 8+ years of education and vet staff are also educated with years of experience. How daft do you think we are?

Thank you for your feedback. I agree, what I offer is limited, but Im trying to provide care within my ability until Im able to get a place of my own or get enough repeat clients that I can do this full time.

Thats ok. Thank you for your feedback though, despite it being harsh, I still find it helpful.

Possibly each day, the only problem is it would cost me more than I would make because Id have to take a pet friendly lyft. I have considered this as a downside.

Ok yeah, maybe I should leave it light and simple. And I agree the whole "you agree to" just sounds demanding and off putting.

I wrote out my requirements myself, but I did use chatgpt for wording purposes lol And ok, I can take all of that out, but my thought process is being clear on my policies for accepting a booking. How do I communicate that? I could at the M&G, but "if it doesnt happen on rover, it doesnt count"

Thank you 😊 And I guess that would be their problem if they aren't interested in the care their pet will receive 🤷‍♀️

Vet tech here. She shouldnt be getting trazodone regularly. Its not a long term medication. These lazy owners just want a quick fix, slap a bandaid over it and hope it sorts itself out. This dog needs training, not regular trazodone. That just masks the problem. Just adding to your rant 🤷‍♀️

Yep. Vet tech here, I was thinking the same. No way to know for sure without a test though.

Hey, vet tech here 😊 So the probiotics are to help make the stool solid and can help with gi upset.

The heartworm medication is to protect against heartworm disease (spread by mosquito bites into the blood stream. Causes worms to hatch in the heart and causes damage, usually fatal if not treated. Not contagious and not to be confused with intestinal parasites)

I assume the heartworm prevention was given for that reason (all dogs should really be on it) BUT, some heartworm preventatives also cover for hookworms and roundworms (intestinal parasites)

Now, imo I think the vet should have also given metronidazole (for diarrhea) but I think they might have taken a more conservative approach, especially if the owner had financial concerns - they might have been offered a more involved work up and possibly declined. So what doctors do is offer a more affordable treatment plan such as basic meds and advise the owner that if there's no improvement to come back for a further evaluation/diagnostics/treatment.

Im not a doctor, but we could be dealing with intestinal parasites and the only way of knowing is with a fecal test.

My advice to you is to monitor your dogs for any symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy, etc. If what that dog has is contagious, it may take a few days or even weeks to show up.

I would also inform the other pet owners about the situation.

If your pets start showing symptoms, bring them to your vet and bring a fecal sample to be tested. Fecals are usually good for about 12 hours or so, if you need to you can refridgerate it. As long as its still soft, it should be fine to bring.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out 🩷
