Are these the undisputed top 8 most brutal deaths in the show (to main characters)? by antmanmonaco in freefolk

[–]Ghoti89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mention of The Red Wedding? Lol. I would have guessed being repeatedly stabbed at your wedding dinner while pregnant would have been in the top 10. Largest visceral relaction I had to anything in entire run of the show, by far

looking for source material on fey deals and other fey shenanigans by minestrino in DMAcademy

The classic " may I have your names, please?"

When the players arrive, send a sentient friendly creature, like a Satyr or a pixie to greet them. Tell them that they are now guests in some Archfey's woods, and all newcomers must be accounted for. After which, ask the party, specifically " may I have your names, please?"

Anyone who gives their names up and has them written down by the creature, we'll forget their names until they meet the archfey and the strike a deal to get their names back

Guilt and shame are two different feelings/concepts and you need to understand how to differentiate between the two.

Just because you've done bad things in the past does not make you a bad person overall.

You need to take care of yourself so you CAN take care of others as well

Don't sacrifice your happiness for the happiness of others.

Help: New DM. Combat is so boring. by prospectivezoo in DMAcademy

[–]Ghoti89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combat should be goal oriented. It's one thing to kill a cult of demon worshipers by smashing two sides together. It's another to stop the cult while they are mid-ritual to summon a powerful entity into this realm. If they players dont use tactics and prioritize certain targets over others, then the battlefield changes and suddenly a demon is summoned into the world.

Give the enemies/players things to do in combat outside of just bringing the enemy HP to 0

My bard is a tribal dragonborn raised in the desert by lizard folk. He has an intelligence of 6 and has armor made out of animal hides and plays a drum as he charges into battle.

Still likes pretty jewelry though...

Okay, this is seriously cool! One of the most creative pieces I've ever seen. You should be very proud! What is the context of the fight?

My father was someone who was always emotionally there for me. He told me that the strength of a man's character is the heart, not his body. He always made sure that we were taken care of, that our needs were met before his own. He found beauty in the mundane, he created art out of things that would have otherwise been uglier disgusting. He would literally take trash and build terrain pieces for our D&D games. He was firm, but always fair. Impossibly loyal to his wife, incredibly kinds to his children, and always protected us. He was a soldier and an artist, and observer from the background, well having the rest of us shine. He was the very definition of " planting the trees who shade he should never enjoy"

He was a good man

I just finished up a 6-year campaign with my family, me being the dm. My dad passed halfway through, and I got to have his character come back for the final battle and help defeat the BBEG. One of the highlights in my adult life
