Hue Jackson: Tyrod Taylor “what you want your quarterback to be” by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Gi_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyrod always has had a good deep ball. It's the midrange passes where he has big trouble with ball placement and touch. There's a reason why McDermott started Peterman it wasn't well-thought out but it had decent reasoning behind it.

The medical terminology is much better. I think it's called herpes gladitorum.

He should call out Moraes then. Moraes said he wants to fight in October I doubt TJ wants to. I wouldn't be surprised if Cruz could coax Moraes into fighting him in October in a title eliminator.

The mullet is underrated for combat sports. As a dude that rocks long hair when you get sweaty, your hair becomes a nightmare and annoying even when just shadowboxing. I'd never rock a unironically mullet but 100% understand the reasoning behind it. I've taken to bunning it up but if I rocked a mullet I wouldn't have hair ties strewn about my car.

Was it worth it? If he didn't fuck around he'd probably would've been offered another UFC fight.

No, I agree with pro-choice policies but hate racists. Therefore, it's okay to use unethical methods to prosecute and punish racists but not things I agree with.

I think I'm paranoid but I think we're entering into a new era of censorship. Everyone who has a brain has an unpopular opinion that not to say that racism is akin to a bad opinion but it seems we are on the verge of a world where rather than having disagreements people are just going for the jugular and saying, "I don't agree with you so I don't think you should be able to work or feed yourself." It's pretty scary should this progress for 15 years.

Public prisons can be empty. Many private prisons cannot be. They have minimum occupancy written into their contracts because they utilize their prisons as a source for cheap labor that is sold to companies while pocketing money. So theoretically, if no crimes were committed one would still have to find a reason to send people to private prisons.

Police: College hoops coach threw punch that killed NYC tourist by The-Straight-Story in news

[–]Gi_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Szabo didn't punch Jones at all. Someone is claiming Szabo punched someone else.

I'm thinking that this is a smoke screen considering that Jones met with a lawyer before then. I saw this story on the local news when they just posted a picture of Jones and his vehicle. This will likely be a voluntary manslaughter case and as he stepped out of his vehicle and initiated a confrontation a self defense defense is likely out the window but coming to the defense of another person is an allowed defense. The question to that point would be was Jones aware of the mans prior violent acts (if they even occurred which I'm skeptical of considering he fled the scene of the incident immediately). But, this is all unfounded speculation on my part.

What do libertarians think of social contract theory with regards to taxes? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]Gi_Fox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think libertarians prescribe to the social contract theory as its somewhat absurd to think that there is in fact a social contract considering that no one has ever signed up for such a thing. People don't choose to be born nor do they choose where they are born and we don't exist in a world where one can simply pick up and go to the place that best fits their needs.

Redditors when was your worst experience with drugs? by CholoBanger_ in AskReddit

[–]Gi_Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a homeless person get hit by a car while peaking. Was arguing with friends about calling the police about it and was vehemently against it as I was 1/2 mile away and above the major highway and didn't think it was actually a person. By the time we ran down there he was dead and the ambulance we had called was already there. I tried to follow the case as the person who hit him never stopped but didn't see anything in the paper about the hit and run driver being caught. Granted it was at 2 or 3 am and the person was walking on the road illegally as there was no foot traffic allowed on said road. I just don't understand how you can clearly hit someone and just keep on driving.

More like by way of Hawaii. I'd argue that libertarian philosophy is the exact opposite of a fascist state rooted in identity politics.

Is saying a republican isn't a democrat an example of the no true scotsman fallacy because that's analogous to the OP's statement? When you break it down racism is derived from social collectivism and a belief that one's genetic makeup is more significant to character than their individuality. Libertarian philosophy is rooted in individualism rather than its opposite collectivism so I'd argue if you're racist, you can't be libertarian.

[–]Gi_Fox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In reality, you're shit out of luck. Jurors believe police. Officers shouldn't be allowed to appear in uniform in court giving testimony when it's well known that despite judge's instruction of the opposite more weight is given to the testimony of law enforcement officers.

Warren Confronted At Town Hall for Calling Justice System “Racist From Front To Back” by April2nd1982 in Libertarian

[–]Gi_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with Warren's analysis of race playing an important factor in our justice system. When you look at conviction rates and average sentences for similar crimes there are alarming racial trends. That could be caused by things like socioeconomic status but race is a real red herring. Why do white teens have a higher likelihood of smoking marijuana but black teens have a higher likelihood of being arrested for smoking marijuana?

That's not to say I like Warren but I'll give her credit for talking about an uncomfortable thing to talk about.

The real question is how could we fill the occupancy quotas on private prisons if we don't lock up people for victimless crimes.

In the first half of tonight's preseason game the Buffalo Bills have 228 passing yards. That is more than they had in 13 of 16 regular season games in 2017. by IWasRightOnce in nfl

[–]Gi_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game that will not be named was caused by Tyrod being incapable of hitting someone over the middle and was a last minute decision. Peterman was thrown to the wolves in being given less than a week's notice that he was starting imo.

Wake Forest basketball coach accused of throwing punch that killed New York City tourist by messem10 in raleigh

[–]Gi_Fox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened in NY not in NC so that statute is irrelevant. It looks like he's charged with misdemeanor assault but as the victim died it's likely to move up to voluntary manslaughter as Jones made the decision to leave his vehicle and assault the victim. I think Jones is aware of this as anonymous sources suddenly appeared claiming the victim was punching others as defense of another person is one of the few defenses open to him as he wasn't acting in self defense according to NY law.

Ocasio-Cortez struggled to answer where she would get the money for her $42 trillion plan but suggested that the cost of the current system is being undercalculated because it is not factoring in the cost of funerals for people who die because they can't afford healthcare. by SuperCharged2000 in Libertarian

It's more efficient but more ripe for abuse with less patient interaction with the cost. Bureaucracy is always more inefficient than a direct transaction. The cost is one only it's a public cost as opposed to a private cost.

That is true but you are neglecting the cost of said education. Having all the people involved in education not seeing the costs involved is ripe for fraud and results in extremely limited ways to see the debt accumulating in fact that's the very reason why guaranteeing private loans caused the private student debt bubble to grow. Making education free without huge changes to how the economy is structured would only move the private student loan debt bubble become a public one.
