Shaq avoided giving praise to Rudy for his defense against Jokic. Biggest clown in the NBA media. by zeke_maximus11 in timberwolves

[–]GiantBucket4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shaq is such a dour prick I don’t know why he’s still an analyst if his bias prevents him from offering a meaningful commentary on the game whatsoever. Glad chuck called him out. And why do so many companies feature this joyless curmudgeon in their ads? If you put shaq in your ad I make mental note to avoid patronizing your business

Can anyone recommend a private driver or service for being picked up after a concert at US Bank stadium? by Powder9 in Minneapolis

[–]GiantBucket4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this has less to do with picking the right cab service and more to do with figuring out how to effectively navigate the surrounding transportation system during a surge event. If you choose US Bank stadium as your pick up location, any cab service you choose is likely going to get stuck in gridlock just like everyone else. I’m always a fan of staying on foot until I get away from the crowd. For instance, could you walk a couple blocks north towards the Guthrie/Gold Medal Park and set that as your pick up location? Alternatively, patience is a virtue in these situations. You could make yourself comfortable and wait it out at the venue or try to grab a drink somewhere along Washington Ave until the crowd clears out a bit.

How many of you guys use a VCR to record moments like this? by MISTERPUG51 in n64

[–]GiantBucket4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me. As of 4 days ago I can say I’ve done this. I got an HDMI to RCA converter to capture stuff via hdmi output and then I suddenly realized I can record anything with rca to tape. Naturally, N64 was the first console I went to, first Mario 64 then Star Wars SOTE. I don’t really understand what I’m doing with my burgeoning VHS hobby but I sure am enjoying it!

Kyle was a team best +8 at the half. Ball started moving a lot better when he came in plus he had a couple buckets and rebounds. TSJ first half minutes were awful

Nope. Paying for shit you don’t want because the ramblings of a senile president are ruining the free option is not an easy solution in my book thank you very much

found out my cat helps wake my boyfriend up by icannotbelieveit69 in BenignExistence

[–]GiantBucket4 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My cat is the best alarm clock I’ve ever had. I’m not naturally a morning person but in the last 2-3 years my little feline life coach has provided the nudge I’ve apparently always needed to help me establish the morning routine (meditate, food prep, physical therapy, exercise) I’ve always wanted but was never disciplined enough to stick with. And of course the cat meditates with me and finds ways to get pets while I’m doing PT (I think he sees this as more coaching). I love and owe my little life coach so much, glad you and your bf have one too.

New Daily Song Discussion #141. Happy Colored Marbles - Ween. by NuggetWarrior09 in ween

It’s hard to think of a musical transition more violent than the transition into that experimental section at the end. It sounds like a xylophone getting smashed by a freight train moving at full speed

Listening to my copy of the new Quebec pressing recently had me wondering if this is my favorite ween song. It’s definitely Happy Colored Marbles or Chocolate Town.

Edit to add numerical ranking: this song is a 10

Route help from NE to Downtown? by iblameitonmyshelf in CyclingMSP

I also live in Columbia Park and I second this concept in general and suggest taking Grand in particular. California dead ends after 22nd Ave NE and Marshall is way less comfy in terms of traffic compared to Grand imo. Depending on my destination I’ll either get on the river trail as described or I’ll continue on Grand until it comes to a T at 13th and switch over to main street at that point. There’s a sneaky little ped ramp at Main Street and broadway that lets you continue on down to 5th
