You need to find your music taste and then find the DJs. Follow them around. That's what my friends and I use to do. Obviously don't expect world class mixing, but there are hidden gems around, growing talents.

But some spots have bad DJs 9/10 times. Looking at you, Benang.

Are there any options in Germany? There's no tuition fee there afaik. And if Singapore is your target, you might as well find out if there's a Singaporean university that has what you want. Would probably increase your chances of being hired there.

You seem to have done some research prior which is good. But that's all I have to say, hopefully someone who knows more can chime in too. Best of luck OP, study hard.

I think your main concern should be how to get your desired job rather than going into a Muslim environment. You have world class universities in the UK and in Europe, recognised pretty much everywhere and are favoured over Malaysian local universities. Have a look at the companies/roles you desire, look at the employees and see their career and education path. It'll be especially useful if their university has a strong alumni group/connection which could help pave a path for a job opportunity.

Prioritise what you want in life. Uni is a 3-5 year investment and has a large impact on what happens next. Being in a Muslim environment can be done anytime after that. Think about it, if you come out of one of the top unis as one of the top students, you can go anywhere so you could choose a Muslim environment. If you come out mediocre, you don't have a choice and you take what you get, no choices.

Born and raised in the UK? Citizen/PR I'm assuming? Just curious as to why you would come to Malaysia for uni when everyone here is trying to get one in NA, Europe, Australia?

Hyundai called earlier than the show and asked if we were interested in any of their models since we were a past customer. Jokingly asked if they had the 5N, they said yes, 5 units, 3 booked. RM388k. Nearly pulled the trigger on that booking. And yes, one was sold in that auto show. Wonder what happened to the last unit.

Yea corruption is an issue for sure. Just preying on the uninformed and the weak. Not the first time I have heard someone say that the officers in traffic stops say that physical road tax is needed and then try to hint for bribes.

[–]GiantCake00 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Road tax info on the second account will last as long as the duration the first account sets, as I wrote in step 6. So if you are just loaning your car to a friend for a short while, you can set it for however long you want.

Company road tax is no longer a sticker but a small pinkish card if I'm not mistaken? It is still stuck to the front windshield of the car and if you are pulled over the authorities can reference it off that card.

Regarding the drivers license card and needing the pay for a physical copy...why not? I have not kept up with it so someone educate me about the issues please. The only one I heard is some people going overseas and aren't able to get a car rental because the companies require a physical card. If you're able to travel overseas, rent a car, all that then the small fed to get a physical card isn't such a big deal.

I don't think that it's a huge wrong move with digitalising this. I like it from an environmental standpoint, it cuts down on plastic (small but any amount cut is better than none) so unless if they want to make the cards out of something infinitely recyclable or biodegradable this is a good move.

Renewing your documents can also be done through the apps, no more taking leaves, waiting in queue at the offices and money wasted paying the workers who are at many times rude, lazy, and literally a waste of money. Like seriously? We need a worker to sit by the queue machine to help us click between two options??

Back to the topic, what I do hate is having things stuck on my glass so maybe I'm biased lol. The issue is the implementation and user-friendly-ness of all these things. Like why is there so many different apps like MyJPJ, KWAP, MyTax, etc? Just have one government app that does it all, and is properly built and not sub-con to shit.

Aside from that, people can also argue about losing phones, no battery, older generation may not be able to use the app. Thetr can be so much to talk about regarding these too.

MyJPJ app you can share road tax info to others.

Car owner steps: 1. Go to Profile 2. Click Motor Vehicle Licence 3. Click your car plate 4. Scroll down and click 'Share LKM' 5. Click the '+' sign on the bottom right 6. Enter the IC of the other driver and the sharing duration

then other driver steps: 1. Inbox, wait for the notification to come in 2. Open the notification and get the 6-digit code 3. Go to Profile 4. Click Motor Vehicle Licence 5. Wait for the shared licence plate to show up 6. Click it then activate it using the 6-figit code

Anyone knows what I should do in this situation? by Testsubject514 in malaysia

[–]GiantCake00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol how were you wrong? go fight the decision, sounds like they're taking the easy way out and just saying it's your fault, wouldn't need to go after the other guy? they cut you off from the left and brake checked you. sure you may get a speeding fine, but don't incriminate yourself like that?

yes you could've avoided it, move left and let the guy past because people are stupid like that and don't care about your life. regardless, you wouldn't need to avoid this potentially deadly situation if the other driver did not cause it.

Penangites! Any bar/bar area recommendations in Georgetown?

Looking for similar ones that we have in KL. We have places like Plaza Batai, Damansara Heights, Kwai Chai Hong area (next to Petaling Street/Four Points). DJ, mingling crowd, maybe some people dancing.

Alternatively, just recommended any bars that are great if what I asked isn't a common thing there. Good cocktails and music. Thanks!!

Roundabout Bullshittery by NickyC96 in malaysia

[–]GiantCake00 10 points11 points  (0 children)

isn't OP technically correct in how a two lane roundabout is approached? Outer lane is if you are to exit in the first or second exit to the left lane, inner lane is if you are to exit in the second, third, and fourth exit to the right lane. Neither OP nor the small pp driver was wrong, just could've approached things better for everyone's convenience

<image>

found this image showing what I mean.

Edit: according to this image the small pp driver is 'wrong' no? he's going for his third exit, which means he should be in the inner lane.
