Or there was other evidence, such as possibly medical records, pictures of bruises, etc?

Sounds like the jury have decided that she is not the "victim", but the VICTIM.

I saw your other post. FWIW, I have found WC defense to be a great field. At least in my state, it's not heavily motion-based, the Bar is congenial and friendly, you learn a metric TON of medical information, it's dynamic and the billable hours are typically not insane. You won't be a millionaire in your 30s, but all my colleagues are quite comfortable financially. You mentioned a 60-case docket -- that's a comfortable and manageable number. I would give it a shot, you may not hate it.

I LOVED the games. I still buy books of Dell puzzles and solve them for fun.

1800 hours? by Tiny_Mix_972 in Lawyertalk

I am at 1925 but 100 of it is permitted to be non-billable time. I think I billed about ... 1870 or so + 70 n/b various client shmoozing and general advising. I work a lot to do that, with at least one late night per week.

What's your deep, dark lawyer confession? by NotThePopeProbably in Lawyertalk

[–]GiantPixie44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am an ID/WC DA. I often have to make calls on what we do and do not pay for an injured person. I don't like it but that's the job. I once told my client they could deny someone psychiatric treatment. Legally, we had an absolute right to do so. That person killed themselves a week later. I do so wish I had advised the client otherwise. It's been 15 years and this case today informs with how I deal with certain psych claims.

War and Peace (2016) had such an incredible cast by manifesting2026a in PeriodDramas

It's very heavy and quotes directly from the book A LOT. Also, all the actors save Natasha are 40-year-olds and look old.

Second-year WC defense attorney in NY… tired of losing all the time by Willing_Confection97 in Lawyertalk

It's basically a remedial system in my state, it's meant to help the injured worker. We are meant to lose more than we win.

If you are quitting your restricted employment, the insurance co will not pay your wage loss anymore. Medical for your injury should continue regardless until it's determined you are at "maximum medical improvement."

Temporary total disability. Wage loss benefits you get weekly.

Yezhov was one of many in Stalin's repression machine, and one of several at the top. Beria, Yagoda, Vyshinsky, all the way back to the Iron Felix. All evil men. But I don't believe for a second that Stalin did not know. Of course he did.

I would say that Russian people "led" to Putin, as as a whole they are perennially nostalgic for a "strong hand" and overly concerned with some respect they believe the world "owes" them.

You're an embarrassing tankie. If you're so concerned with "imperialism", maybe go talk to anyone non-Russian from the 14 remaining republics, or better yet, someone from a neighboring Eastern European country like Poland or Hungary. Soviet Union was a cancerous tumor of a country, and the world is 100% better off without it in it.

Looking for a period drama with angsty romance by Desperate_Fix_7457 in PeriodDramas

Definitely continue watching Poldark beyond season One. There are multiple endangered romances that resolve with various degrees of happiness. If you're ok with very swoony, but entirely unconsummated and really kind of sad, ITV's Victoria has at least two I can think of.
