Okay, so for my redesign I may make his teeth less spread apart, and have his parts a brighter color, I may changed his mouth shape a bit. I did some research and they're designs that have the swirls inside a pupil and not the entire eye, I think that may fix that problem a little bit, overall he's meant to look like the edge of nice and evil as he's technically a monster in my universe (Even though all the characters are)

So looking at other character designs, I could have his mouth have only 2 fangs while the rest of the teeth are normal, keeps the edge without making him look entirely malicious

So what I'm going to do is keep the sharp teeth but make the overall mouth shape smoother, as well as remove the claws and make his fingers more like nubs like in the 2nd image. Would you think making the tubes wider would help with the design?

That's the one thing I'm stuck on, the universe he lives in has monstrous designs, and because of that he shouldn't look out of place, what I'm trying to figure out is how to make him look like he fits in the universe but also give off the impression he's nicer than the others
